Sidmouth is a destination that over
the years has certainly become
a very popular place for a short
holiday. Delightful scenery, both
coastal and countryside coupled
with a lovely hotel make for
a delightful South Devon break.
Day One We depart from our local area and make
our way to Sidmouth arriving at the Royal York and
Faulkner Hotel in the afternoon for the next four
nights with dinner, bed and breakfast. Plenty of
time to settle in before dinner this evening.
Day Two After breakfast we enjoy a morning
tour of the beautiful Devon countryside stopping
in Seaton to enjoy some free time. We return to
Sidmouth via the Donkey Sanctuary where you are
free to spend as much time as you wish meeting
the donkeys. These donkeys live in the main barn,
some of them are over 40 years of age. They need
plenty of extra attention and are kept here to be
close to the veterinary hospital. We return to the
hotel in the afternoon.
Day Three Today we travel as far as Dorchester
the county town of Dorset whose Roman origins
are evident in the streets and architecture. We
then head towards Weymouth with its charming
17th century harbour, where we will spend the
afternoon.
