As the Zoo approaches its 100 th anniversary,
the Zoo Century renovations will put us in a
position to ensure another 100 years of this
wonderful community resource.
By including the Friends of the Zoo in estate
planning and planned giving, donors realize
a host of tax advantages while helping ensure
that the Henry Vilas Zoo continues to thrive for
generations to come.
Ways to Give:
Gifts to the Endowment are one of the best
ways to provide enduring support. Because
endowments exist in perpetuity, donors and
their families can enjoy the emotional rewards
of these funds for generations to come.
Tributes and Memorials provide a meaningful
way to honor a special person or event while
supporting the conservation, education and
outreach efforts of the Zoo.
Matching Gifts allow individuals to give twice
as much by having their employer match their
pledged amount.
Bequests can be as simple as naming the Henry
Vilas Zoo in your will. For example, “I hereby
give, devise, and bequeath to the Henry Vilas
Park Zoological Society the amount of $___ for
its exempt purposes.” A bequest can consist
of property, securities, real estate, cash or
anything else of value.
Charitable Trusts have many advantages. This
versatile planned gift allows for an immediate
charitable tax deduction and continues to earn
income for the rest of the donor’s life.
