THOMAS SHARKEY is a member<br />
<strong>of</strong> the USD School <strong>of</strong> Law<br />
Board <strong>of</strong> Visitors. During his<br />
career, he was named a fellow<br />
in the American College <strong>of</strong><br />
Trial Lawyers and an advocate<br />
in the American Board <strong>of</strong> Trial<br />
Attorneys. He was a partner<br />
and trial lawyer at McInnis,<br />
Fitzgerald, Rees & Sharkey<br />
before the firm’s 1999 merger<br />
with Higgins Fletcher & Mack<br />
LLP. After the merger, he<br />
remained <strong>of</strong> counsel to the<br />
firm until he left to pursue a<br />
solo practice specializing in<br />
mediations and arbitrations<br />
in 2001.<br />

BETTY BOONE recently shared<br />
with the Lawyers Club <strong>of</strong><br />
<strong>San</strong> <strong>Diego</strong> stories <strong>of</strong> being<br />
one <strong>of</strong> the first practicing<br />
female attorneys in the<br />
<strong>San</strong> <strong>Diego</strong> community. Her<br />
stories are in the association’s<br />
March 2006 newsletter.<br />

WILLIAM D. PALMER was recently<br />
appointed to the Kern<br />
County Superior Court bench<br />
by Governor Schwarzenegger.<br />
He has been a commissioner<br />
with the court since July<br />
2005, and was previously a<br />
partner at various Bakersfield,<br />
Calif., law firms.<br />

STEVE R. CLOUD is CEO <strong>of</strong><br />
Fresno Distributing in Fresno,<br />
Calif., and R.V. Cloud Co.<br />
in Campbell, Calif. Both companies<br />
are involved in the<br />
wholesale plumbing business.<br />

GARY LANE lives and works in<br />
Irvine, Calif., serving as general<br />
counsel to ASR Properties<br />
and its affiliated companies,<br />
including The Khoshbin<br />
Company, Khoshbin Properties<br />
and a Ferrari-Maserati<br />
dealership called Exotic<br />
Motorsports Unlimited. He<br />
enjoys playing video games,<br />
basketball and riding an electric<br />
scooter with his 12-yearold<br />
son. He spent much <strong>of</strong> his<br />
career representing hospitals<br />
and teaching contract law in<br />
addition to serving as dean<br />
<strong>of</strong> two law schools. Lane invites<br />

T. WORTHINGTON VOGEL retired<br />
recently after spending 31<br />
years as an assistant district<br />
attorney. He now works parttime<br />
instructing students on<br />
criminology.<br />

WILLIAM H. HITT graduated in<br />
2003 from the Claremont<br />
School <strong>of</strong> Theology with a<br />
master <strong>of</strong> divinity. He is currently<br />
the senior pastor at the<br />
United Methodist Church in<br />
Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.<br />
MICHAEL R. LENNIE has a practice<br />
devoted exclusively to<br />
the representation <strong>of</strong> authors,<br />
negotiating author/publisher<br />
contracts and litigating disputes<br />
with publishers. He<br />
is also the primary literary<br />
agent in the Lennie Literary<br />
Agency.<br />
GEORGE STANDEFER is no<br />
longer practicing law. He has<br />
taught English as a second<br />
language overseas and would<br />
love to hear from classmates.<br />
DONALD WORLEY retired from<br />
law practice in November<br />
2004. He now devotes his<br />
time to acting in film and<br />
television. One <strong>of</strong> his recent<br />
roles was General Patton for<br />
the History Channel’s epic<br />
“The Battle <strong>of</strong> the Bulge.”<br />

WILLIAM PATE, a retired<br />
Superior Court judge, won<br />
the <strong>San</strong> <strong>Diego</strong> County Bar<br />
Association’s 2006 Service<br />
Award for Outstanding Jurist.<br />

ROBERT LEAMAN tries complex<br />
criminal cases as chief trial<br />
counsel for the New Jersey<br />
Division <strong>of</strong> Criminal Justice.<br />
He was promoted to that<br />
position in July 2002. He<br />
also manages the division’s<br />
north regional <strong>of</strong>fice in<br />
Whippany, N.J.<br />
JOSEPH O. LITTLEJOHN retired<br />
from the bench in April 2006<br />
after 25 years <strong>of</strong> service as a<br />
Municipal Court and then<br />
Superior Court judge in the<br />
<strong>San</strong> <strong>Diego</strong> area. He plans to<br />
continue working on legal<br />
issues, particularly in the<br />
area <strong>of</strong> juvenile law reform.
