9. Dr. Cheatham thanked the following people and organizations for their contributions to the 2012 Super-Regional Convention:<br />

(1) Reading Is Fundamental for its partnership with <strong>Alpha</strong> <strong>Chi</strong> in the promotion <strong>of</strong> literacy;<br />

(2) Candlewick Publishers for the beautiful pop-up books used as banquet decoration and then donated to our RIF school;<br />

(3) Tim Brown and Herff Jones for the fabulous convention t-shirts;<br />

(4) Our wonderful speakers, Sharyn McCrumb and Susan Fillion;<br />

(5) Nationwide Insurance for sponsoring the regional dessert receptions;<br />

(6) The historical city <strong>of</strong> Baltimore for being such a memorable city;<br />

(7) The staff members <strong>of</strong> the Hyatt Regency Baltimore for their excellent service;<br />

(8) The staff <strong>of</strong> the national <strong>of</strong>fice for a wonderfully organized convention;<br />

(9) And to each chapter delegation who attended, presented, and contributed.<br />

10. A group <strong>of</strong> all delegates in their convention t-shirts was taken. Dr. Fay Nielsen, Region VII president, then announced the<br />

11. Dr. Judy Cheatham announced that <strong>Alpha</strong> <strong>Chi</strong> wanted to honor Dr. Dennis Organ, retiring executive director. Dr. Clark<br />

Youngblood, the immediate past president <strong>of</strong> the National Council, read a tribute to Dr. Organ, Dr. Ann Kneavel presented Dr. Organ<br />

with a crystal vase etched with the <strong>Alpha</strong> <strong>Chi</strong> logo, and all the delegates were given cupcakes with which to “toast” Dr. Organ.<br />
