Power Inverter
Features
User’s
Guide
• Automatically shuts down if the vehicle’s
battery runs low to prevent total battery
discharge.
• Converts 12VDC power from vehicle
battery into 115VAC power.
• Ideal for camcorders, wireless phones,
video game consoles, some notebook
computers and more.
• Fused circuitry and short-circuit protection
safeguard your devices in the event of
power overload.
2
Quick Start
1 Plug into your vehicle’s
power port
3
Adjust the inverter’s
plug as needed for
better positioning.
n Note: You can use an AC and USB device
at the same time, but the total power load
cannot exceed 75 watts.
2 Plug in your device
Device must draw 75W or less of continuous
AC Power.
Replacing the Fuse
If the fuse has blown, replace it with a 15A,
250V tube-type fuse (not supplied).
1. Unscrew inverter cap.
2. Replace the fuse, then screw the inverter
cap back on.
w Caution:
• Do not use a fuse with a different rating.
Doing so can damage your inverter.
• Watch out for loose parts (spring coil and
inverter tip) when replacing the fuse.
Troubleshooting
If an appliance doesn’t power up, or the
power indicator doesn’t light, there are several
possible causes:
• Defective device plugged into the
inverter.
Try another device to see if the first one
is defective.
• Vehicle battery voltage is lower than
10V.
Run the vehicle’s engine to recharge the
battery.
• Temperature exceeds 158°F (70°C).
Unplug the appliance and wait until the
inverter cools. See “Heat Dispersion.”
Your device’s power requirement might
also exceed the inverter’s rating.
• Continuous power load exceeds 75
watts.
Disconnect the device. Use only devices
with a continuous power load of 75 watts
or less.
• Blown fuse.
See “Replacing the Fuse.”
5
Heat Dispersion
The inverter’s thermal protection prevents
it from operating if its temperature exceeds
158°F (70°C). If the inverter gets too hot,
position the inverter where air flows freely
around it to allow the heat to disperse.
Operation resumes when the temperature
decreases to about 104°F (40°C).
Safety Information
WARNING! Shock Hazard
This 75W inverter generates the same
potentially dangerous AC voltage as a
household wall outlet. Failure to follow these
warnings may result in personal injury or
damage to the inverter.
Do not insert foreign objects into
the inverter’s AC outlet or vents.
Do not expose the inverter to
water.
6
w Caution:
• Do not connect devices that require power
greater than 75 watts to the inverter.
• During operation, keep the inverter away
from materials that may be affected by
high temperatures.
• Make sure the power port and plug are
clean. A dirty power port can prevent the
inverter from working properly.
• Do not use the power inverter in a
positive-grounded vehicle. Especially for
older vehicles, check with your dealer or
mechanic to find out if you have a positive
grounded vehicle.
• Always remove the inverter from the
power port when not in use.
• Let the inverter cool down completely
before storing.
• The power port must be rated for at least 15
amps to continuously power a 75 watt load.
• If necessary, you can use an AC extension
cord. The extension cord’s rating should
be equal to or greater than the device’s
rating.
