New Brochures
In order to keep customers constantly up to date with
ThyssenKrupp GfT Bautechnik products and services,
the following brochures have been published.
� The Bautechnik Overview - This brochure
provides a brief summary of all services provided by
ThyssenKrupp GfT Bautechnik and contains a lot of
technical data and general information.
� ABI TM 10/12.5 mobile ramming system -
Information about the ramming system with innovative
hybrid running gear that can run on rails as well as on
normal subsoil.
� Flood protection - A comprehensive information
collection concerning all services offered by Thyssen
Krupp GfT Bautechnik in the flood protection sector,
with examples of possible applications and latest
developments. �
Eastern Europe
With the expansion of the European Union and the
constant increase in trade with the evolving nations of
Eastern Europe, a growing significance is being
attached to the involvement of ThyssenKrupp GfT
Bautechnik in these markets. In Romania, for
example, the German experts were already able to
actively contribute their expertise in flood protection.
In Bulgaria, ThyssenKrupp GfT Bautechnik is
participating in the development of the Danube and
Black Sea ports.
Croatia
Staff from the Eastern Export section of
ThyssenKrupp GfT Bautechnik participated in the
"Graditeljstva" at Zagreb in September 2006. On
an exhibition area of over 80,000 square metres,
exhibitors from over 40 countries presented their
latest developments and offerings to 100,000
trade visitors. ThyssenKrupp GfT Bautechnik had
the MS-8 HFB V excavator-mounted accessory
device and the MS-16 HF and MS-16 HF vibrators
on display. This proved to be a great success,
Lidija Karaula, Export Manager, secured two
substantial orders during the course of the
exhibition for building and fitting-out.
At Metković in Southern Croatia (Dalmatia), the
construction of a 4-floor apartment block with 22
apartments covering an area of 900 square metres
is planned. As planning permission would not be
granted without a minimum number of parking
spaces, the commissioning builder MGA decided
to build an underground garage.
However, it is not customary to build below ground
in this region, because of the high ground water
table. ThyssenKrupp GfT Bautechnik experts
managed to convince responsible Managing Director
Zeljko Glavinic to use sheet piling. The 80 tonnes of
sheet piling required were driven in with the MS-4
HFB excavator-mounted accessory device.
Important for ThyssenKrupp GfT Bautechnik is the
ground breaking nature of this project as a
reference building site, since the demand for sheet
piling for underground construction in Dalmatia
and Bosnia-Herzegovina is estimated to be
considerable.
To secure their second order, ThyssenKrupp GfT
Bautechnik staff stayed in the capital of Zagreb. Due
to the brisk building trade and activity in the fastgrowing
metropolis, home to 25% of the total
population of Croatia, the Zitnjak canal is to be filled
in. This will provide new building areas and existing
plots of land will increase significantly in value. The
order for this was secured by the Georad company,
which did not, however, have experience in the
sheet piling area. Great confidence was placed in
cooperation with ThyssenKrupp GfT Bautechnik
experts, as 600 tonnes of sheet piling were driven in
with a MS-16 HFV vibrator. Much to the delight of
Georad Managing Directors Ljubo Sicaja and Boze
Ivancic, who were convinced of the values of this
new technology. �
