A passion for vessels<br />

n Silvia G. Belina was presented<br />

<strong>the</strong> MPS award for her support and<br />

dedication to DB SCHENKERmarineparts<br />

on <strong>the</strong> occasion of her 25th<br />

anniversary of service to <strong>the</strong> group,<br />

which she celebrated toge<strong>the</strong>r with<br />

customers, friends and colleagues in<br />

April this year. When Silvia Belina<br />

joined former Rhenus Air Transport<br />

in 1986, she quickly realized that <strong>the</strong><br />

marine industry needed transport<br />

and logistics support to keep <strong>the</strong> vessels<br />

going. She consequently started<br />

developing this business long before<br />

<strong>the</strong> product DB SCHENKERmarineparts<br />

was officially founded – and she<br />

has kept her passion for this product<br />

until today.<br />

Marineparts & Aeroparts department<br />

in Hamburg before joining<br />

Joachim Zuraw, Aeroparts Germany,<br />

Change in Denmark<br />

n Bjarne Steffensen, Chief Executive<br />

Officer of Schenker A/S in Denmark,<br />

retired at <strong>the</strong> end of August after 30<br />

years with <strong>the</strong> group. He started at<br />

Nordisk Bilspedition A/S (former<br />

name of Schenker A/S) in 1981. Since<br />

<strong>the</strong>n, <strong>the</strong> company has merged and<br />

changed its name several times – in<br />

2003 to Schenker A/S as known today.<br />

Bjarne Steffensen also made a significant<br />

contribution to promoting <strong>the</strong><br />

expansion and working conditions of<br />

<strong>the</strong> forwarding business in Denmark,<br />

especially in his role as chairman of<br />

as of January 2010 to form a team at<br />

German corporate level with <strong>the</strong> aim<br />

of developing <strong>the</strong> Aeroparts & Marineparts<br />

business for <strong>the</strong> Central Europe<br />

region. During <strong>the</strong> anniversary ceremony,<br />

Joachim Zuraw, Joachim Fiebig,<br />

PM Air Germany, and – as a special<br />

surprise – Helge Jensen, Global Product<br />

Management DB SCHENKER<br />

marineparts EMEA made congratulatory<br />

speeches to Silvia G. Belina, all<br />

wishing her <strong>the</strong> best and hoping that<br />

she will keep up her passion for big<br />

vessels.<br />

The special “MPS” award went to Silvia G.<br />

Belina (left), here with Helge Jensen. She<br />

realized very early that <strong>the</strong> marine industry<br />

needed transport and logistics support to<br />

keep <strong>the</strong> vessels going.<br />

<strong>the</strong> trade association Danske Speditører<br />

from 1997 to 2004.<br />

He is followed by Henrik Dam<br />

Larsen, who has over 30 years of<br />

national and international experience.<br />

Henrik Dam Larsen started his career<br />

as a shipbroker. Now he joined <strong>the</strong><br />

group from a position as General Manager<br />

at Blue Water Shipping A/S.<br />

He also held leading positions at Cap<br />

Gemini/Ernst & Young, INTTRA,<br />

and DFDS.<br />

Focus on crossregional<br />

projects<br />

n Effective October 1, 2011, Heinrich<br />

Heimbrock became Senior Vice President<br />

Engineering & Projects at <strong>the</strong><br />

Schenker <strong>AG</strong> Head Office. In this role<br />

he replaced Michael Brandes, who<br />

decided to pursue his career outside<br />

of DB Schenker. Heinrich Heimbrock<br />

will fulfill his new position in addition<br />

to his existing role in performance<br />

monitoring. He joined <strong>the</strong> group in<br />

1993, and has worked since that time<br />

in <strong>the</strong> corporate Corporate Logistics/<br />

SCM organization. In his new responsibility<br />

he will work hand in hand<br />

with <strong>the</strong> regions and o<strong>the</strong>r corporate<br />

functions. He will focus on crossregional<br />

projects.<br />
