Definition of sarcoidosis<br />
• <strong>Sarcoidosis</strong> is a multisystemic disorder of<br />
unknown aetiology characterized by a<br />
heightened helper T cell type 1 (Th1) immune<br />
response at sites of disease activity and by the<br />
presence of noncaseating granulomas.<br />
