Every year EMBO sponsors plenary lectures by EMBO Members at major international scientifi<br />
c meetings. The aim is two-fold – to support EMBO Members in their collaboration<br />
with scientists from associated fi elds and to raise the profi le of European science worldwide.<br />
“The EMBO Lectures” also bring EMBO activities to the attention of a wider scientifi c<br />
audience. In 2006, EMBO sponsored 34 plenary lectures, 26 of these at European events<br />
and 8 at international meetings.<br />
