for Surge application<br />

The coupling/decoupling networks type <strong>CNV</strong> 501 and<br />

type <strong>CNV</strong>503 are used for two different applications:<br />

1. <strong>Coupling</strong> Surge pulses as required in IEC 61000-4-<br />

5 and ANSI IEEE to the power mains supply.<br />

2. <strong>Decoupling</strong> the interference pulses from the<br />

public power mains supply to not disturb other<br />

equipment which is connected to the mains.<br />

Line to Line with a 2Ω source impedance L1 to L2, L1 to L3, L1 to N, L2 to L3,<br />

L2 to N, L3 to N<br />

Line(s) to PE with a 12Ω source impedance All combinations<br />

The <strong>CNV</strong> 503 couplers can be used together with the following generators:<br />

For Surge<br />

VCS 500M 1.2/50μs - 8/20μs up to 10,000V as per IEC 61000-4-5<br />

TSS 500M2B 1.2/50μs - 8/20μs up to 2,000V as per Bellcore<br />

TSS 500M2F 10μs up to 2,500V as per FCC part 68<br />

UCS 500M4 1.2/50μs - 8/20μs up to 4,000V<br />

UCS 500M6B 1.2/50μs - 8/20μs up to 6,600V<br />
