PAGE 6 CROSSPOINT NEWS CELEBRATION STATION @ COLONIAL PARK Summer is the time of vacations! We love to go – all of us!!!! Help us this summer while our children’s ministry people are on vacation! Summer will look very different around here – lighter, even more informal, more mission projects, and even going outside! Whatever your gift or talent, we can use you! No one can have more fun than when you work with our kids! Every week we have a blast teaching our children about our faith! Please come join the fun! Where can you go to see the craziest and coolest acts ever? Where can you go to learn about all the amazing ways God has gifted you? Why, go to the circus! The circus is in town and we’re heading Under the Big Top to find out all sorts of cool things about God – and what He thinks of us! This series parallels The Incredibles series that we are studying in worship. MAY PAGE 2012 7 CROSSPOINT PAGE NEWS 7 CONTRIBUTE THRU SERVING Last summer we filled out cards where we would like to Contribute Thru Serving at CrossPoint Church. These are the ministry servants who’ve started in ministry in the last month. Praise God for these ministry servants! Single Mom’s Ministry Leaders: Pam Castilow, Kelly Szobocsan Contemporary Worship @ Colonial Park: Dave Cook and Dave Grim Celebration Station Preschool Worship Leader @ Colonial Park: Patti Robison Multi Media @ South Hanover: Dave Meens Hospitality @ South Hanover: Alice Mangus C.A.R.D.s Sales @ Colonial Park—Natalie Sandel, Diane Maher THE INCREDIBLE EDIBLE EGG THE QUICKER PICKER UPPER Step into a bathroom at any of our three campuses and you’ll notice brand new paper towel dispensers. We’ve streamlined our facilities and utilized our purchasing power to consolidate our paper towels and toilet paper. We are working with Bortek Industries to purchase our paper products; in exchange, they provided us with free new dispensers. The paper towels save us $15 per case and no longer need expensive batteries to operate – an awesome win win situation. Pay careful attention … toilet paper dispensers are on the way! Okay, our eggs weren’t edible for the Easter Egg Hunts but they were incredible. Thanks to your awesome support and the incredible work of Maddy Shipe, CrossPoint collected over 10,000 eggs for the Easter Egg Hunts @ Colonial Park and Rutherford. In fact, you were so generous that we were also able to donate over 200 eggs and candy to the United Methodist Children’s Home – AMAZING! The amazing egg-travaganzas began on a drizzling Saturday morning @ Rutherford. The weather said it would clear up by 10:00 a.m. so the egg hunt was a go. Nearly 20 volunteers spread out throughout the campus, pooper scooping, marking off land, making signs, preparing the registration tables and of course, hiding eggs. As the weather started declining and the sprinkling turned into a slow rain, the families began to swarm onto the campus. They were met by smiling hospitality greeters, baby chicks and even a rooster. As the hunt began, approximately 120 kids swarmed onto the land and ‘found’ 4500 eggs. They even received a CrossPoint pen and an activity book that told the Easter story. Then an egg-celent time was had by over 200 kids on the following Saturday as nearly 6500 eggs were scattered across the Colonial Park campus. The morning began with a greeting and prayer by Maddy Shipe and then age groups dispersed throughout the campus for activities centered around the Easter message. The children decorated cookies, played games, enjoyed an Easter themed craft and heard the story of the resurrection through Easter Resurrection Eggs. Over 20 ministry servants joined Maddy to make this such an egg-ceptional outreach event.
