The following awards were presented to Lubar School faculty and staff: IZZET SAHIN RESEARCH AWARD Sanjoy Ghose, Associate Professor of Marketing Dr. Ghose specializes in modeling consumer perceptions and consumer choice. His current research focuses on modeling issues in areas such as the interactions between Internet marketing strategies and consumer preferences, consumer search behavior in the online domain, online retail competition dynamics, the impacts of advertising on consumer choice, and optimum product design. ROGER L. FITZSIMONDS SCHOLARLY ACHIEVEMENT AWARD FOR JUNIOR FACULTY Xiaohang Yue, Assistant Professor in Production & Operations Management Dr. Yue specializes in supply chain management and operations manage ment. His current streams of research focus on production/inventory models, and information sharing and its impact on the performance of a supply chain. 18 OUTLOOK U.S. BANK RESEARCH FELLOW AWARD Huimin Zhao, Assistant Professor of Accounting Dr. Zhao’s research interests are in the areas of data integration, data mining, and medical informatics. His current research focuses on identifi cation of semantic correspondences across hetero geneous databases, cascade generalization of classifi cation methods, cost-sensitive learning, and fusion of data mining and domain knowledge. ASSURANT HEALTH RESEARCH FELLOW AWARD Patrick McKay, Associate Professor of Organizations & Strategic Management Dr. McKay’s research specializes in human resources issues, specifi cally related to under-represented racial and ethnic minority employees. (continued from previous page) ASSURANT HEALTH RESEARCH FELLOW AWARD Mark Srite, Associate Professor of Management Information Systems Dr. Srite’s research is focused in the areas of technology acceptance across national cultures, the infl uence of emotions on group decision-making, and quantitative issues in information systems. BUSINESS ADVISORY COUNCIL AWARD FOR TEACHING EXCELLENCE Torsten Ringberg, Assistant Professor of Marketing Dr. Ringberg studies people’s socio-cognitive models and how these affect individual interpretations, preferences, and ability to make sense of incoming stimuli. He combines sophisticated qualitative research methods with relevant social science and socio-cognitive theories to identify these mental models. Lubar School of Business, University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee “Modeling and Analysis of Call Center Arrival Data: A Bayesian Perspective,” Refi k Soyer, Professor of Decision Sciences and Statistics, School of Business, George Washington University “Investigating Standards and Standardization of Web Services,” Sandeep Purao, Associate Professor, College of Information Sciences and Technology, Pennsylvania State University BUSINESS ADVISORY COUNCIL OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE AWARD Rose Czaja, Payroll Coordinator Ms. Czaja, who supports the School’s fi nancial affairs area, recently took the lead role in implementing a new online payroll system.
