I heard the bells on Christmas Day
Their old, familiar carols play,
And wild and sweet
The words repeat
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!
And thought how, as the day had come,
The belfries of all Christendom
Had rolled along
The unbroken song

The world revolved from night to day,
A voice, a chime,

Then from each black, accursed mouth
The cannon thundered in the South,

New Envelope System
Electronic Giving Option
Please note that your electronic giving will
continue without interruption for the new year
unless you request that it be stopped. It will
be updated with your new pledge informa-
tion as well. There is no need to re-apply
for this option. If you would like to utilize electronic giving, please call
the parish office at 612-332-7471 and ask for an authorization form.

Beginning in January, 2013, we will be utilizing a new system for your
offering envelopes. The envelopes will be mailed to you monthly rather
than as one package each year. So often, the yearly packages have
been received and put away — and unfortunately, forgotten. The new
monthly system will provide for a more timely receipt and return of
your parish financial support. However, if you would like to use electronic
giving, we will be happy to set that up for you. Just call our office
612-332-7471 and ask for Annette. She will send you an
electronic giving application and information. At that point you may or
may not cancel your envelopes. If you wish, you may mark the envelope
showing you give electronically and put it in the collection basket.
If you have not been receiving offering envelopes, please feel free to
call the office and we will add you to the recipient’s list.

The feast of the Holy Family,
which we celebrate today, gives
us pause to ponder the phenomenon
of family, especially
the rich rewards that come
from close family ties. If we can
duplicate the love Mary and
Joseph and Jesus had for each
other, there’s no telling what
the positive and rich effects on
our health, our well being, and
our overall happiness might be.
And remember that family is
not limited to those who share
the same blood line. There are
possibilities for family everywhere
— a church, a work
place, or among those who
share common interests.

made a significant difference.
