FACKELMANN profits from globalisation 

India and China as drivers of growth 

Amazing successes notched up in England, France and Ukraine 

Uninterrupted growth continues !

FACKELMANN GmbH + Co. KG from Hersbruck near Nuremberg can look back on 

2011 as yet another year of growth. The turnover of the FACKELMANN Company 

Group, with a total of 34 branches and production sites worldwide, rose in 2011 to 

€301 million. This amounts to a growth of 4 per cent. 

A glance at the development across the continents and different countries in some cases 

reveals a very varied picture. In China and India, with their enormous populations, the 

company continues to expand. In these countries, massive increases of 40 % (India; 

domestic and export) and 25 % (Chinese domestic market) were recorded. These markets 

are and will continue to be a cornerstone of future growth for FACKELMANN. 

In Europe, too, sales efforts in countries like England, France (+ 19 %) and Ukraine (+ 20 %) 

returned noteworthy levels of performance. In England in particular, the long-term 

investments in staff and market development have started to pay off, with the welcome result 

of a growth rate of 25 % brought about by new customer acquisitions. 

In Germany, sales remained static at the level of the previous year; in some Eastern 

European states, due to a reduction by some major customers of special promotions in the 

non-food field, the figures fell just short of those of 2010. 

“We are working hard and with determination on many fronts,” managing partner Alexander 

Fackelmann stresses. In the year just gone, 2011, a conscious decision was made in the 

future to prioritise potential markets. “As a family business we always think long-term and 

have our eyes firmly on the continuous development of our business to secure the future 

prosperity of the firm.” 

The growth of the FACKELMANN bathroom furniture division was somewhat hampered by 

the conscious decision to draw back from discounting campaigns, although, happily, the 

shortfall was very nearly made good by the outstanding sales performance of Lanzet, the 

specialist bathroom furniture brand. ZENKER Backformen (Aichach) once again contributed 

some €30 million to the overall turnover. 

The new logistics centre at the company‟s headquarters in Hersbruck, which officially 

commenced operations in May and is the result of an investment volume of some €6 million, 

has proved its worth in the best possible way. Links to existing warehousing and despatch 

modules have since brought about significant progress in efficiency and processing speed.

In December 2011, the presence of Lanzet Badmöbel in Hersbruck was documented by the 

opening of a showroom in the town. Lanzet has been a member of the Fackelmann Group 

since 2008, and production and administration have now been relocated to renovated halls 

on the main FACKELMANN site. 

“We believe passionately in the „Made in Germany‟ label,” says Alexander Fackelmann, 

underlining the company‟s commitment to this investment as well. 

FACKELMANN counts roughly 3,500 employees worldwide, around 750 of them in Germany. 

At its trade show stand in Hall 6.0 of Ambiente, FACKELMANN and ZENKER Backformen 

are to present around 120 surprising and smart innovations. Specially designed knife ranges, 

colourful household goods and new baking moulds are sure to quicken the pulses of 

shoppers – and, subsequently, of amateur cookery enthusiasts as well! 

FACKELMANN is to open Ambiente 2012 with a major charity run by ultra-marathon 

specialist Robert Wimmer, who has for years been supporting the company from Hersbruck 

with a range of activities. The distance runner has undertaken to cover 64 km on the 

treadmill and thereby to raise money for the FACKELMANN children's fund! 

FACKELMANN GmbH + Co. KG, founded in 1948 as a commercial agency for ironmongery 

and household goods in Hersbruck near Nuremberg, is represented on all five continents by 

its products for the kitchen, baking, household and leisure. Nearly all of the world’s 50 largest 

trading organisations are partners of the family business. There are currently 34 branches 

and production sites. The product family includes, alongside the core FACKELMANN brand, 

NIROSTA, ZENKER Backformen, FM professional, TopFilter, Probus Creative Housewares,

At first sight, the new pumpkin tool impresses with its strong, non-slip handgrip and sharpedged 

scoop. 

But this practical aid has yet more to offer! The handle houses a sharp, serrated blade of 

roughly 12 cm in length, and there is a locking mechanism to securely fix it in place. 

So now you can cut up even the largest of pumpkins and then – having retracted the blade –

These trays are made of 0.5mm-thick steel plate, coated 

on the inside with a high-quality, double-layered non-stick 

coating and on the outside with a single coat of the same
