The National Coaching Certifi cation Program (NCCP) is a coach<br />

training and certifi cation program <strong>of</strong>f ered in over 66 sports<br />

across Canada. The National Coaching Certifi cation Program<br />

is a collaborative program <strong>of</strong> the government <strong>of</strong> Canada,<br />

provincial/territorial governments, national/provincial/territorial<br />

sport organizations, and the Coaching Association <strong>of</strong> Canada. For<br />

a recipient <strong>of</strong> one <strong>of</strong> the Western Canada Games Legacies. Paci� cSport Interior BC will receive<br />

$50,000 for coach certi� cation support throughout the region.<br />

The fund will be set up for anyone who wishes to take a NCCP Coaching Course and will be<br />

reimbursed upon completion <strong>of</strong> the course. The injection <strong>of</strong> � nancial support will help any person<br />

wanting to advance their knowledge in coach education.<br />

Paci� cSport will also assist the Provincial Sport<br />

Organizations and Local Sport Organizations wishing to<br />

have any NCCP Courses in the Interior BC<br />

The IGNITE Athlete Development Program introduces young athletes who are<br />

targeted by their Provincial Sport Organization to a high-perfor-mance lifestyle<br />

by improving their athleticism, physical literacy and fi tness through a multi-sport<br />

training program which is complementary to their current sport-specifc practice and<br />

competition schedules.<br />

Delivered by experienced specialists and with the aim <strong>of</strong> building complete champions,<br />

IGNITE helps athletes build balance, strength, speed, agility, and power through training<br />

sessions that focus on three movement streams:<br />

• Sprint Training<br />

• Gymnastics<br />

• Strength and Conditioning<br />

The purpose <strong>of</strong> the IGNITE ATHLETE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM is to:<br />

• Enhance motor skills & physical fi tness<br />

• Provide and enhance foundational movement skills that can help with<br />

future athletic development<br />

WRESTLING<br />

Wrestling develops all-round<br />

athletic skills, including<br />

self-defense, physical toughness,<br />

self-reliance, self-discipline, and<br />

character. Wrestling is a great<br />

sport to foster confidence and<br />

athleticism, especially for those<br />

who may otherwise not participate<br />

in more mainstream team sports.<br />

It is an outstanding sport for both<br />

boys and girls.<br />

Boys and Girls Pre-competitive<br />

Program, Ages 6-13<br />

Develop strength and agility to<br />

tumble and grapple in games<br />

played on the wrestling mat and<br />

learn introductory wrestling skills.<br />

This experience will carry over into<br />

other sports and activities. We<br />

provide exercise and activities in a<br />

fun setting under trained coaches.<br />

Parents are invited to attend<br />

sessions and become involved in<br />

the activities.<br />

Boys and Girls Competitive<br />

Introduces wrestling to beginners<br />
