Checking the availability<br />
Before checking the availability it is best to know the booking horizon. A booking horizon is the<br />
number of days before departure you are able to check the availability and make bookings; this<br />
varies depending on the service being used.<br />

Most European trains are equipped with facilities for both wheelchair users and their <strong>co</strong>mpanions.<br />

� Fares are available from UK through to Belgium and Dutch stations, via Brussels Midi.<br />
� There is no need to include open segments, just quote with the relevant Any Belgium or<br />
Any Dutch station passenger types, which are on the fare sheet.<br />
� A stopover of up to 24 hours is permitted in Brussels on the outbound and return journeys.<br />
� Tickets are not valid on the high-speed trains, example: Thalys.
Overnight Trains<br />
Overnight trains <strong>co</strong>nnect major destinations that are around 7 hours apart. Journey times are a<br />
little longer than the <strong>co</strong>rresponding day trains that serve the same route.<br />
� The <strong>co</strong>mfortable, well-equipped Lunéa service travels overnight between cities in France.<br />
Some cross border services.<br />
� The luxurious and modern Elipsos is the perfect way to travel between France and Spain,<br />
Spain and Italy or Spain and Switzerland.<br />
� City Night Line trains <strong>co</strong>nveniently link major cities in Austria, Switzerland, Germany and<br />
the Netherlands.<br />
� The Lusitania service <strong>co</strong>nnects Spain and Portugal overnight.<br />
� Thello trains are a time-efficient way to travel between France and Italy.<br />
There are two types of sleeping ac<strong>co</strong>mmodation available on overnight services in Europe. These<br />
are Couchettes and Sleepers. On certain overnight trains there is also the option of travelling in<br />
an open carriage on airline-style reclining seats.<br />
� Couchettes offer more basic, lower-<strong>co</strong>st sleeping ac<strong>co</strong>mmodation. They are either 4 or 6<br />
bunk <strong>co</strong>mpartments.<br />
� Sleepers are the most refined and <strong>co</strong>mfortable way to travel. These are 1-berth, 2-berth<br />
and, 3-berth <strong>co</strong>mpartments.<br />

E-ticket bookings<br />
An E-ticket (electronic ticket) is a paperless electronic document used for ticketing. When<br />
customers book train tickets over the phone or in person, the details of the reservation are stored<br />
in the SNCF database.<br />
Once <strong>co</strong>nfirmed, an email is then generated and sent to the booking email address in PDF format.<br />
This can be printed via a desktop printer or emailed to the customer.<br />
� E-ticket bookings are available for individual passengers 1 to 9 max.<br />
� The passenger’s date of birth is required for the booking for extra security.<br />
The E-ticketing facility is available on selected SNCF routes and France-International routes.<br />

address. The PDF document is the ticket, which needs to be printed using your desktop printer or<br />

Most European train <strong>co</strong>mpanies offer dis<strong>co</strong>unted Group rates when ten or more passengers travel<br />
together as a party to the same destination. You can make group bookings of 10 to 24 passengers<br />
using your system. Larger numbers of passengers, and all groups on local trains (example TER) &<br />

Includes the transfers from the border or airport to one's destination and back<br />

Resarail automatically returns ticketing time limits (TTL) on <strong>co</strong>mpletion of a PNR. The TTL is<br />
governed by how far in advance the booking is made and must not be changed. Prem fares must<br />
be issued immediately regardless of the TTL generated on the booking file.<br />
If seats are not required, they need to be released back as soon as possible.<br />
A PNR or booking reference is required in order to issue the tickets.<br />

Refunding Tickets<br />
1) The client has not used the tickets and would like a refund. The agent must have all the tickets<br />
to carry out a full refund.<br />
For non-printed T.O.D tickets and E-tickets, the agent can process the refund without the tickets.<br />

At step 6, 10APR refers to the date of the operation and S1 is segment 1<br />
At step 9, the unused ticket will be cancelled and the amount refunded will be the difference<br />
between the full single fare and full return fare. Both tickets will have a reimbursement <strong>co</strong>upon<br />
issued which will need to be attached to the tickets.<br />
When ending, a reprint of the used ticket will be issued which needs to be returned to Rail Europe.
� Voiding tickets<br />
This process can only be done on the day of issue for tickets that have not been issued due<br />
to a print failure or where the tickets have been issued at the wrong price, class of service,<br />
etc…<br />
To void the tickets without cancelling the itinerary, follow the steps below.<br />

attached to the ticket(s) and return to Rail Europe at the end of the month.<br />
If you experience a printer failure (tickets in TK0 status), type *P8 (Step 2) and if the ticket<br />
numbers status say Data Accepted instead of Litigious, please <strong>co</strong>ntact the Rail Europe GDS<br />
Helpdesk on 0844 848 4045 and ask for the tickets to be released in order to void. Once the status<br />
changes to Litigious, please print all the screen(s) and keep with the rest of your end of month<br />
ticket returns.<br />
*If you are not reprinting the tickets, the itinerary should be cancelled.<br />

If the bike can be folded or dismantled and placed in<br />
a bike bag then it can be carried on board as part of<br />
luggage allowance. If not, a bike space can be<br />
reserved on the same train the passenger are<br />
travelling on, “subject to availability”. If there is no<br />
space on the same train, customers can use<br />
Eurostar’s registered baggage service, which<br />
guarantees a <strong>co</strong>llection within 24 hours after<br />

Eurostar only accept guide dogs. Passengers can<br />
take pets with them on French trains. Each<br />
passenger can take 2 dogs or any 2 domestic<br />
animals in pet carriers (or one of each), Dogs must<br />
be muzzled and on a lead.<br />
A 2 nd class open ticket is required for the pet(s).<br />
Pets are also accepted on overnight trains provided<br />
the entire <strong>co</strong>mpartment is booked.<br />
