HoW to use tHis Publication
It is easy to find specific funders, recipients, or
grants by using the search feature included in
adobe®reader®, the software used to view this
publication. to search for any key word, type the
Control and f keys to access the “find” search box.
Enter your search term(s), such as “education” or
“disabilities,” then click the forward arrow to the right
of the search box or, alternatively, use the enter key.
to find additional occurrences of your term(s) continue
using the forward arrow or the enter key.
If you are searching for a specific topic, type in a key
word, such as “film” or “women.” When researching
funding sources, it is also often helpful to identify
grants received by organizations similar to your own.
to find a specific grant recipient, search for its name,
such as Boston University. Lastly, if you are looking for
grants awarded by a specific funder, type in all or part
of the grantmaker’s name.
to find the most up-to-date information about a
funder, click on the foundation’s name link above
each list of grants in section one. this link will take
you to the funder’s record in foundation finder, at the
foundation Center’s web site. Here you will find the
latest contact information, brief financial data, a link
to the funder’s web site (if available), and a link to
the funder’s latest Irs form 990-Pf. for more
in-depth information about a grantmaker, and more
extensive listings of grants over several years, use
Foundation Directory Online.
