• Zed Head’s brand of Southern rock & roll is made the way it should
be—created with sweat and swagger, the swilling of bourbon, and very loud
guitars. Mortal Man has to be one of the best examples of Southern rock
you have heard in ages—and it’s made in canada!
• This is the kind of Texas boogie-woogie you’d expect from the reverend
Billy F. gibbons and his compadres. With his long beard and dark shades,
vocalist and bass player Fog Johnny Burkitt even looks the part. neil
Chapman spits out the riffs while Smilin’ Bob Adams wails on his
Mississippi saxophone. Drummers come and go, but Terry Martell plays
on most tracks of this debut while Bill King guests on keyboards.
• Songs are mostly original, with lyrics by Johnny Burkitt.
• Promo/review copies mailed to relevant magazines, radio stations, and websites.
“This band is HOT! … Each tune has a new subtle style while remaining true
to the band’s overall sound.” — The Walrus, 94.1 The Rock Station
• Electrifying roots-based blues, soul, Americana, rock, R&B—100%
Mark Robinson.
• Robinson picked up his first guitar at age 13. Drawing on musical influences
ranging from the Allman Brothers to Charlie Christian, he practiced
every lick until it was perfect. But he also found his own musical path—part
rock, part blues, but most definitely unique.
• This debut is raw and soulful, backed by some of Nashville’s finest. The
songs are as at home on Beale Street as they are on lower Broad, and as
comfortable in Southside chicago as in the studios of Muscle Shoals.
• Robinson has played with American blues legends Lonnie Brooks, Jimmy
Johnson, Koko Taylor, Son Seals, and Bo Diddley.
