In addition, we are able to configure<br />
both room <strong>and</strong> rack <strong>extinguisher</strong><br />
<strong>system</strong>s to your individual<br />
specifications.<br />
No fire without oxygen. Three ingredients are neces-<br />
sary to keep a fire burning: Fuel, heat <strong>and</strong> oxygen.<br />
As soon as just one of these factors is removed, the<br />
fire will be extinguished. As the high availability<br />
dem<strong>and</strong>s of IT <strong>system</strong>s rule out the use of water for<br />
firefighting, the protected space is flooded with an<br />
<strong>extinguisher</strong> gas to smother fires quickly <strong>and</strong> without<br />
leaving residues.<br />
Thanks to its width of just 300 mm, the <strong>Rittal</strong> fire <strong>alarm</strong><br />
<strong>and</strong> <strong>extinguisher</strong> <strong>system</strong> DET-AC XL is ideal for space-<br />
saving integration into a rack suite or IT room.<br />
Function principle:<br />
The detection <strong>system</strong> of the<br />
DET-AC XL draws room or rack<br />
air in continuously <strong>and</strong> detects<br />
even the tiniest smoke particles<br />
during the initial phase of a fire,<br />
the so-called pyrolysis phase.<br />

After a defined delay time,<br />
the <strong>extinguisher</strong> gas bottle is<br />
opened electrically <strong>and</strong> the gas<br />
flows out into the room or racks<br />
via the <strong>extinguisher</strong> nozzles.<br />
