Mini Hot Plate<br />

Used in histology for removing stubborn wrinkles f<strong>ro</strong>m<br />

sections and for re-orientating embedded tissue. Can be<br />

used to heat fix bacterial smears while avoiding cell damage<br />

th<strong>ro</strong>ugh overheating in mic<strong>ro</strong>biology applications.<br />

Slide Drying Hot Plate<br />

Designed to evaporate water and solvents f<strong>ro</strong>m slides<br />

and mounting media quickly. Also used for warming waxembedded<br />

specimens and for hot staining p<strong>ro</strong>cedures.<br />

• Slides rest above surface of hot plate to accelerate<br />

contrast against the wax sections; lower casing is<br />
