HISTOLOGY 30 CRYOTOMY <strong>Thermo</strong> <strong>Scientific</strong> HM550 Cryostats Choose from units equipped for clinical or research laboratories Open top cryostats with ergonomic design for working either standing or sitting. LCD on top indicates actual temperature, number of sections, section thickness for fine sectioning and trimming, remaining travel and retraction as well as date and time. Cryochamber Features • Temperature in the cryochamber controlled from 0°C to -35°C • Moveable chamber illumination to avoid light reflection • Battery-backed storage and self-diagnostic system • Automatic defrosting with immediate defrosting and interruption function • Freezing station for freezing of 12 specimens including peltier fast-freezing device to maximum -60°C for four specimens (30mm stages) • Numbered position for better allocation of the specimens Microtome Features • Stainless-steel microtome equipped with maintenancefree cross-roller bearings • Section thicknesses from 1 to 100µm • Trim section thicknesses from 5 to 500µm • Motorised coarse feed and reset movement with three different speed settings • Horizontal feed range of 28mm • Vertical cutting stroke of 60mm Ergonomic / Safety Features • Operation via menu-driven prompts • Automatic Cryo-Approach (ACA) system for exact and safe approach of the specimen towards the blade • Standby and sleep modes to reduce energy consumption and for a low operating noise Options Numerous options are available to suit your specific needs: (V) Vacutome system for flattening of specimens and removal of sectioning debris (O) Object cooling from +10°C to -50°C (M) Cutting motor (0 - 250mm/sec.) which can be started either with foot pedal or via control panel. Features accelerated return stroke, programmable cutting window, brake and emergency stop button. (D) Disinfectant delivery system that creates a 3 to 5 micron mist to coat the interior surfaces of the cryostat.
