FRUIT TREE GRAFTING
OBJECTIVES:
• Define grafting.
• Explain two methods of grafting.
• Talk about the advantages of tree grafting.
Notes: Grafting is the process of combining two different trees, by inserting a branch (scion)
from one tree into the stump or banch (root stock) of another. Grafting can make trees produce
fruit more quickly and improve the quality and quantity of the fruit produced. By grafting
multiple varieties to one root stock, one tree can give fruit all year round, and can give different
varieties simultaneously.
