activities, on the strategic reason
for the reorientation: “The reorganization
aims to consolidate commonalities
under the umbrella of Rheinmetall
Defence and enhance the management
of the group. We intend to expand our
system capabilities even further – by
decentralizing responsibilities to the
maximum degree possible – and
hence to raise our profile on markets.
One of the main
targets of our new
structure is to
Commenting on
functions within
the Defence group,
Eberhardt adds
that the new Defence
organization
defines and identifiesresponsibilities
very clearly
since the six business
units are
centers of competency; added to this,
(internal) coordination processes will
be optimized and the capacity to act
dynamized. “With its new structure,
Rheinmetall Defence is now well prepared
and – above all – ready for further
steps towards the consolidation of
the European land systems industry.”
One important feature of the reorganization
Rheinmetall Defence has introduced a new organizational structure
Strong partners on markets worldwide
One face to the customer – with a strategic focus on national and international markets.
prominently in future, they will give the
business units comprehensive support
where infrastructure, development,
project management, production, purchasing
and quality management, human
resources, accounting and finance/controlling
are concerned. Last
but not least, the new Rheinmetall
Defence organization
will manage
marketing activities
centrally, develop
strategic
planning processes
and integrate
these in central
business planning,
and adapt
management reporting
to the new
structure (see p.3).
According to
Rheinmetall CEO
Klaus Eberhardt,
the new organization
will send out
clear signals with
regard to the
group’s market profile and future
strengths – both inside and outside
Rheinmetall. “Rheinmetall Defence is
synonymous with a strong partnership
on international markets. Our new structure
will boost growth, especially on markets
abroad, and hence help to lastingly
secure the future of our group. Simultaneously,
it will concentrate responsibilities
in the business units to which market
segments, core competencies and
technologies are clearly allocated.”
