Subject: IB2 trip to <strong>Berlin</strong><br />

Dear parents and guardians,<br />

Our trip to <strong>Berlin</strong> is approaching and I would like to provide you with some details.<br />

Unfortunately “Ryan Air” no longer flies from Düsseldorf Weeze and cancelled our flight<br />

but we have been able to make a reservation with “Deutsche Bundesbahn”.<br />

We will depart from the central station in Aachen (please make sure that your<br />

son/daughter is there 45 minutes before the departure)<br />

Departure Thursday February 17 th at 11.39 (platform 9)<br />

Arrival Sunday February 20 th at 18. 20 in Aachen (platform 6)<br />

Please make sure that your son/daughter brings the following:<br />

� id card or passport (plus a copy of it)<br />

� health insurance card<br />

� school pass<br />

� lunch for Thursday<br />

� towels<br />

� medication (if necessary)<br />

� +/- 100 euro pocket money for meals (this is quite generous<br />

because food is not expensive in <strong>Berlin</strong>)<br />

The program of the trip was set up in cooperation with the students. We shall visit the<br />

“Reichstag”, the Holocaust Memorial, Check point Charlie with its museum and we also<br />

want to get to know a bit of the cultural life of <strong>Berlin</strong> (theater, cinema) and the new <strong>Berlin</strong><br />

architecture. (Tiergarten, Friedrichtstraße..etc.) The exact program will be handed out in<br />

school shortly before we will leave.<br />
