Ore Bene�ciation & Transport
On the northern part of RABIA’s geological corridor, there is an about 2
km long groundwater oasis. Wild pepper trees are indicating excellent
water supply. It is supposed that a groundwater stream originating
from the Andes, is causing the observed natural phenomenon. This is
the only place in the region where such water occurrences are
reported.
Ore bene�ciation and transport
The r.o.m. ores are crushed by a low speed sizer (primary
and secondary). Thereafter, and during the initial mine
cycle period of about four years, lower amounts of crushed
ore will be transported to the deep water port of Huasco for
shipment to Ras Al Khaimah, UAE.
At later stages with larger daily output of r.o.m. ore, a
pregnant leach solution (PLS) concentrate will be prepared
in site at the mine for subsequent transport to the port and
shipment to the UAE.
Extraction and puri�cation of copper and gold
In the free zone of the harbour, the solvent extraction (Sx)
and electro winning (Ew) to produce LME grade copper
cathodes, will be performed under the roof of one single
plant. For environmental reason, the circuits will be kept
closed. The corresponding plant will be designed and built
up by the Bulgarian company Iontech Engineering Ltd. The
capacity of the plant shall be developed stepwise from 50
tpm copper cathodes in the initial phase to reach the
long-term level of several thousand tons per month. At the
same time, gold will be also recovered at high purity level.
