KIHE 2012 FACTS AND FIGURES:
KIHE was held in Almaty for its 19th time.
Gross total space – 7450 meters, exposition space – 7000 meters.
Number of exhibitors– more than 209 companies from 22 countries. Malaysia and Bangladesh
participated in the exhibition for the first time. In comparison with KIHE 2011 this year exhibition
was increased by 35%. Traditionally, Kazakhstan companies accounted for almost half of the
exhibition – 40% of all exhibitors. Other widely presented companies included Germany (12%),
Russia (20%), China (7%), Malaysia (3%) and Turkey (3%).
Ministry for Economic Affairs of Bavaria, Chinese and Turkish, Czech companies, Malaysian Rubber
Export Promotion Council were presented with their national groups at the event. Collective
participation was arranged by the Nizhniy Novgorod Administration.

KIHE 2012 OFFICIAL OPENING CEREMONY
KIHE 2012 official opening ceremony was held on 16 th of May at 12 PM at the main entrance of 11
pavilion. The Exhibition was opened by Serik Seidumanov, Almaty City Deputy Akim, Ayzat
Moldagasimova, Almaty City Chairman of the Committee of Medical and Pharmaceutical Activities Control of
the Ministry of Public Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan , Yelzhan Birtanov, Chairman of the Management
Board of National Medical Holding JSC, Vyacheslav Lokshin, President of the International Pharmaceutical
Companies Association in Kazakhstan, Gulnara Kurpenova, General Director of Yumgiskor Holding LLP, and
Yuri Borodikhin, Chief Executive Director, ITECA LLP; Anastasia Balysheva, Project Manager, Iteca LLP.
“This international healthcare exhibition is a traditional event in Almaty and now it is extremely important for
implementing high-quality healthcare reforms in Kazakhstan. The format of KIHE 2012 involving major domestic
and foreign manufacturers covers all key trends in healthcare progress,” Serik Seidumanov emphasised in his
welcome speech.
Ms. Moldagasimova conveyed the greetings from Salidat Kairbekova, Minister of Public Health of the
Republic of Kazakhstan: “President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, in his address to the
people of Kazakhstan “Socio-economic modernization – the main vector of development of Kazakhstan” outlined
further development of Public Health in the Republic of Kazakhstan, nothing that an important way to increase the
level of human development is to increase the availability and quality of medical services, promote healthy lifestyles.
Due to the consistent implementation of state health programs and the annual increase in funding the
healthcare industry of Kazakhstan significantly increased the pace of development.
The annual exhibition project “KIHE” is an important platform for showcasing the latest advances in medical
science and healthcare, which is traditionally attended by world leaders and national medical and pharmaceutical
industry, the developers of new high technologies for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases.
In the situation of continuous scientific and technological progress it is important to keep improving
professional skills and acquiring new knowledge”.
The official opening ceremony was also attended by representatives of various public health bodies and
diplomatic missions of the exhibiting countries.
During the official opening ceremony of the exhibition the organizers awarded gratification certificates
for the long-term support and cooperation in organisation and holding of the healthcare exhibition “KIHE
2012” to Ministry of Public Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan; Almaty city Healthcare department of
Almaty City Akimat; National Medical Holding JSC; S.D. Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University;
Almaty State Institute of Advanced Medical Education; International Pharmaceutical Companies Association
in Kazakhstan; National Medical Association of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
An official delegation headed by Mr. Serik Seidumanov and Ms. Moldagasimova paid a visit to stands of
the exhibition participants.

KIHE 2012 EXHIBITION
19 th Kazakhstan International Healthcare Exhibition “KIHE 2012” is the largest Central Asian medical
forum which is an indicator of formation and development of the public healthcare system in the region.
The exhibition space of KIHE 2012 was presented more than 209 companies from 22 countries. The
geographical representation of the exhibitors is impressive and covers the following countries: Austria,
Bangladesh, Belarus, China, Czech Republic, Egypt, Finland, Germany, India, Japan, Kazakhstan, Latvia,
Malaysia, the Netherlands, Poland, Russia, South Korea, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, USA, Uzbekistan.
Newcomers included Bangladesh and Malaysia. The total exhibition area was 7450 m². More than 2 000
visitors were registered during first exhibition day and include specialists of the medical industry and allied
fields from all regions of Kazakhstan, the CIS and foreign countries.
Main exhibitors included manufacturers and distributors of medical equipment. For example, the
German National Stand included 25 companies which mainly presented medical equipment. Groups of
companies from China, Czech, Malaysia and Turkey had a broad representation, too. Apart from medical
equipment, local firms also presented medicinal agents, various disinfectants, new dental products, etc.
Traditionally, Kazakhstan companies accounted for almost half of the exhibition – 40% of all exhibitors. Other
widely presented companies included Germany (12%), Russia (20%), China (7%), Malaysia (3%) and Turkey
(3%).
The KIHE Exhibition is the focal point of a three days long programme of events that attract the biggest
gathering of healthcare industry professionals in the country. This included seminars, workshops.
Presentations of new equipment and various programmes were traditionally held in the seminar room.
It is worth noting that it was for the first time that KIHE 2012 featured a roundtable of the Almaty State
Institute of Advanced Medical Education devoted to exploring potentialities and prospects of university
hospitals.

Sure enough, main results of KIHE include a new series of medical inventions in Kazakhstan. Many of
them were presented at the exhibition, and specialists who visited the event were able to scrutinise them for
further use.
Leading domestic and international companies showcased the latest developments, know-how and
technologies needed by the modern healthcare industry.
Some new products were presented at the exhibition:
OrdaMed Central Asia will present a line of new R-series models from South Korea’s Medison - eighth
generation scanners that use a completely new software platform: SonoAce R3, SonoAce R5, SonoAce R7,
Accuvix XG and EKO 7. The latter have unique options, HDVI ® and Volume NT ®, which have no analogues
among other manufacturers of ultrasonic scanners. Yumgiskor will demonstrate a contactless, fast and accurate
way of determining haemoglobin levels in blood, pulse rate and perfusion index using a new development - Masimo
Pronto-7 TM . This year, Medicus Eurasia will focus on cardiology and cardiac surgery: at KIHE 2012 the company
will present the LUCAS automatic chest compression system.
Philips presented two diagnostic systems, ClearVue 350 and iE33, and PACS system integrated with
HD-11xe ultrasound system, which are the latest developments to screen performance of the heart and other
organs. “They are supposed to satisfy the customer,” Igor Grachev, Head of Philips Representative Office in
Kazakhstan, believes.
“It is an open secret that a disease is easier to treat at earlier stages but to detect malignant tumours
or incorrectly functioning organs specialists need precise and high-tech equipment,” emphasised Mr Grachev.
“The exhibition displays a great variety of different developments but the most important thing is that
specialists should determine it themselves, through checking and studying, what equipment and what brand
will best suit them,” he said.

Scientific seminars, workshops and companies presentations also were held during exhibition days of
KIHE 2012. The exhibition offered a saturated business programme: 20 workshops and presentations were
for the first time held concurrently on two sites in different pavilions. Representatives of exhibiting companies
presented cutting-edge treatment and diagnostic technologies and methods. Vyacheslav Lokshin, President
of the Association of Representatives of Pharmaceutical Companies in Kazakhstan, said: “Such events offer
the shortest distance for new technologies to enter the domestic market as even in the age of Internet it is only
within exhibition events that you can see state-of-the-art developments and achievements of medical science
with your own eyes”.

KIHE 2012: UP TO THE MARK AGAIN. Exhibition Demonstrated 35% Growth as
Compared to the Past Year.
KIHE 2012, the largest healthcare exhibition in Central Asia and Kazakhstan, was held
on 16-18 May in Almaty. Organised by Kazakhstan’s Iteca, in partnership with exhibition
companies from the UK, Germany, Turkey, ITE Asia Pacific and China, the event has been
held for the nineteen time this year.
Official support for the project was provided by the Ministry of Public Health of the Republic
of Kazakhstan; Almaty City Administration; Almaty City Administration Healthcare Department;
National Medical Holding JSC; S.D. Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University; Almaty State
Institute of Advanced Medical Education; International Pharmaceutical Companies Association in
Kazakhstan; National Medical Association in Kazakhstan; German Industry Association for Optical,

KIHE 2012 is the most representative international healthcare exhibition in Kazakhstan and
Central Asia, both in terms of the number of exhibitors and their composition. A wide range of
medical care products and services provided by manufacturers, dealers and distributors of
medications and healthcare equipment for ophthalmology, endoscopic examination, physical
medicine, rehabilitation, SPA treatment, etc. was exhibited at KIHE 2012.
Exhibition statistics: KIHE 2012 featured more than 209 companies from 22 countries
presenting over 300 trademarks. The representation was astounding since exhibitors included
companies from Austria, Bangladesh, Belarus, China, Czech Republic, Egypt, Finland, Germany,
India, Japan, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Poland, Russia, South Korea,

Some new products at the exhibition:

In terms of figures, KIHE 2012 results look as follows:
• According to UFI independent international exhibition audit, during three days the event
was visited by 5,550 registered professionals;
• 78% of visitors specified in their questionnaires that they influence decision-making in their
companies;
• 88% of visitors were satisfied with the range of exhibits at KIHE 2012;
• 94% of professionals have already scheduled a visit to the 2013 exhibition;
• 35% of exhibiting companies signed contracts right at the exhibition;
• 59% of exhibitors established 10 to 50 useful contacts, 27% – 50 to 100 promising
contacts, 10% – 100 to 200 interesting contacts, and 1% specified in their questionnaires that they
managed to talk to 200 prospective and existing customers during the exhibition.
The next KIHE 2013 Exhibition will be held in Almaty on 15-17 May 2013.
