Don was Secretary-Treasurer for 15 years and Club
Handicapper for 30 years. He represented the club on the
Board of Management of the Colac Racecourse and
Recreation Reserve for 37 years and for 43 years he was
the Club's Publicity Officer.
He was an accredited referee and referee examiner for 30
years, plus club coach. Don was a member of the National
Executive for three years just prior to the Melbourne
Olympics. In 1958 he was a member of the successful
Australian Team competing for the Macintosh Cup.
He was the initiator for the long service concession for
shooters over 65 years or 60 years with 30 years'
continuous service, something that not many shooters
would realise.
A very impressive record by any standard, the sport of i
clay target shooting can ill-afford to losd such dedicated
men as Don Corstorphan . . . a true sportsman.
To his wife Myra and daughters June and Lynette the
Colac Gun Club would like to express our deepest
sympathy.
