Honorary Membership during<br />
the year. The <strong>Choir</strong><br />
made the presentation in<br />
honour of Rob’s outstanding<br />
work on behalf of<br />
Wooden Spoon, the British<br />
Rugby Charity.<br />
Bob has been a fervent supporter<br />
of the <strong>Choir</strong><br />
throughout his life. A former<br />

public house in Pentre, he<br />
was recently widowed fol-<br />
It was through his work with Wooden Spoon that he has enjoyed a close<br />
association with the <strong>Choir</strong>. Over the years <strong>Treorchy</strong> has become recognised as<br />
the official choir of Wooden Spoon which raises several million pounds per<br />
year for disabled and disadvantaged children.<br />
Wooden Spoon is a national rugby charity and Bob is the former Chairman<br />
of the Wales branch and Director of Rugby.<br />
Choristers have performed many concerts for Wooden Spoon, they famously<br />
released a CD single of the Bob Marley hit “Stir it Up” for the charity and have<br />
performed at many Wooden Spoon functions at the Millennium Stadium in<br />
Cardiff on Welsh rugby international days.<br />
On receiving Honorary Membership from <strong>Choir</strong> Chairman Gareth Evans, Mr<br />
Harris said: “This is the greatest honour I have ever received and I only wish<br />
Carol could be here tonight to witness it. We love this <strong>Choir</strong> – you are the<br />
greatest in the world – and I can’t begin to tell you how proud I am of this<br />
wonderful honour.”
