quantity and replacement of rejected gunnies and shortage. In<br />

case of unsuccessful tenders, the Earnest Money Deposit will<br />

be refunded within one month from the date of finalising the<br />

tender. The EMD deposited with the Mills carries no<br />

interest.<br />

5. SECURITY DEPOSIT:<br />

The successful tenderer should remit 2% of the total<br />

value of the contract towards security deposit subject to a<br />

maximum of Rs.1.00 lakh byway of demand draft in favour of the<br />

Pondicherry Co-op. Sugar Mills Ltd, within ten days from the<br />

date of acceptance of tender from the Pondicherry Co-op. Sugar<br />

Mills Ltd.,. Any failure to remit the Security Deposit will<br />

entail termination of contract besides forfeiture of EMD. The<br />

Security Deposit will be refunded only after satisfactory<br />

completion of the entire ordered quantity and replacement of<br />

rejected gunnies and shortage to the mills. The Security<br />

Deposit carries no interest.<br />

6. SPECIFICATION OF A-TWILLS:<br />

Each A-<strong>Twill</strong> gunny bags shall be in accordance with<br />

the size and specifications as mentioned below and as<br />

per Sugar(Packing & Marketing) order 1970 in respect of<br />

specifications not mentioned specifically hereunder:<br />

Sacking :The bags shall be made from pieces of double warp<br />

2/1 twill weave jute sacking of uniform construction<br />

and of 67.5 cm width and the warp running along the<br />

length of the bags. There shall be 3 blue stripes<br />

woven along the length of the bag.<br />

Safety Stitch :A line of safety union stitch shall be<br />

provided at the inner edges of the overhead<br />

stitches using 2 jute twins of 275 to 345 tex x<br />

or 8 to 10 grist x 2 The number of safety union<br />

stitches per 10 cm shall be 9 to 11.<br />

Hemming at<br />

the mouth :At the mouth of the bags, the raw edges of<br />

sacking shall be turned over first to a depth<br />

of about 1.8 cm and then to a depth of about 2<br />

cm and the three layers of sacking thus formed<br />

shall be hemmed with jute yard of 275 to 345<br />

tex or 8 to 10 grist. the number of stitches<br />

per 10 cm in the hem shall be between 9 to 11.
