campaign assessment<br />

The joint force commander‟s broad qualitative and analytical determination <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

overall campaign progress, effectiveness <strong>of</strong> operations and recommendations<br />

for future action. Also called CA. (AFDD 2)<br />

cascading effect<br />

One or more <strong>of</strong> a series <strong>of</strong> successive indirect effects that propagate through a<br />

system or systems. Typically, cascading effects flow throughout <strong>the</strong> levels <strong>of</strong><br />

conflict and are <strong>the</strong> results <strong>of</strong> interdependencies and links among multiple<br />

An explanation <strong>of</strong> why an action or effect will cause or contribute <strong>to</strong> a given<br />
