REVISIONS AND CHANGES<br />

CHANGES TO THE AIR FORCE SUPPLEMENT TO THE DOD<br />

DICTIONARY OF MILITARY AND ASSOCIATED TERMS<br />

The <strong>Air</strong> <strong>Force</strong> <strong>Supplement</strong> <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> DOD Dictionary <strong>of</strong> Military and Associated Terms is a<br />

living document and can be accessed at <strong>the</strong> LeMay Center https://wwwmil.<br />

maxwell.af.mil /au/lemay/doctrine.htm.<br />

Changes will be posted periodically <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> on-line version <strong>of</strong> this supplement and<br />

will normally occur in conjunction with <strong>the</strong> approval <strong>of</strong> AFDDs.<br />

Proposals for changes <strong>to</strong> this supplement outside <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> normal AFDD development<br />

process may be submitted <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> USAF Terminologist on a limited basis. Changes will<br />

be approved in this manner only when <strong>the</strong>re is not an applicable AFDD in development.<br />

Table 1.1 contains <strong>the</strong> criteria for <strong>the</strong> three types <strong>of</strong> proposed actions. Proposals should<br />

include <strong>the</strong> elements listed in Table 1.2. The <strong>Air</strong> <strong>Force</strong> Terminologist will consolidate<br />

proposals and present <strong>the</strong>m <strong>to</strong> LeMay Center/DD in accordance with AFI 10-1301, <strong>Air</strong><br />

<strong>Force</strong> Doctrine.<br />

Add � Term is not adequately defined in a standard dictionary or<br />

JP 1-02.<br />

� Term is <strong>of</strong> general USAF significance. A technical or<br />

specialized term should be proposed only if it can be<br />

defined in easily unders<strong>to</strong>od language and its inclusion is <strong>of</strong><br />

general importance.<br />

Modify � Term is incorrectly defined in <strong>the</strong> <strong>Air</strong> <strong>Force</strong> Glossary.<br />

Delete � Term is adequately defined in a standard dictionary.<br />

� Term has been defined in JP 1-02.<br />

� Term is <strong>of</strong> a technical or specialized nature and is not<br />

defined in easily unders<strong>to</strong>od language.<br />
