When <strong>the</strong> poorest of <strong>the</strong><br />

poor have tears <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir<br />

eyes through pleasure of<br />

receiv<strong>in</strong>g our gifts, our<br />

feel<strong>in</strong>gs are also deeply<br />

touched and tears are allowed.<br />

A German Truckers magaz<strong>in</strong>e<br />

goes with <strong>the</strong> German Round<br />

Tablers Help Convoy to<br />

Romania.<br />

The 1 st of December 2007 was<br />

just such a day that one<br />

wanted to stay <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> warm<br />

comfort of his home. It is cold<br />

wet, and foggy. The pre-<br />

Christmas feel<strong>in</strong>gs were<br />

build<strong>in</strong>g up <strong>in</strong> our m<strong>in</strong>ds and<br />

it had given us <strong>the</strong> impression<br />

best to stay at home<br />

with our feet up and enjoy<br />

life.<br />

In Gruendau-Lieblos not far<br />

from Frankfurt am Ma<strong>in</strong> it is<br />

all different. 80 German<br />

Round Tablers and Helpers<br />

are stand<strong>in</strong>g by with <strong>the</strong>ir<br />

eight 40 Ton trucks, two 7,5<br />

Tears of Joy<br />

ton trucks and 2 coaches wait<strong>in</strong>g<br />

for <strong>the</strong> chance to get mov-<br />

<strong>in</strong>g on <strong>the</strong> German Motorways.<br />

The trucks are fully loaded<br />

with 30000 Christmas packets.<br />

AGM,. Gloucester GB 23rd - 26th April 2009<br />

These are what <strong>the</strong> Tablers<br />

had collected, sorted and<br />

<strong>the</strong>n loaded onto <strong>the</strong> trucks<br />

from <strong>the</strong>ir journeys over<br />

<strong>the</strong> last few months for <strong>the</strong><br />

Children <strong>in</strong> Romania.<br />

1300 hard and tir<strong>in</strong>g kilometres<br />

lay before <strong>the</strong> honorary<br />

helpers reached Timisoara<br />

(Temeswar) <strong>in</strong>Romania.<br />

If we travelled from <strong>the</strong> top<br />

to <strong>the</strong> bottom of Germany<br />

we would only have 1000<br />

kilometres to travel, and<br />

apart from <strong>the</strong> countryside<br />

not much will change.<br />

Completely different when<br />

you consider our trip <strong>in</strong>to<br />

<strong>the</strong> east.<br />

You cannot<br />

avoid dropp<strong>in</strong>g<br />

back a<br />

decades <strong>in</strong><br />

time. NicolaeCeausescu<br />

who<br />

ruled from<br />

1974 till<br />

1989 with<br />

his dictatorial policies drove<br />

<strong>the</strong> land andpeople <strong>in</strong>to<br />

poverty. Even<br />

strides forwards.<br />

Even <strong>the</strong><br />

few big West<br />

European Motor<br />

cars, you f<strong>in</strong>d <strong>in</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> ma<strong>in</strong> towns<br />

will not alter<br />

much.
