It started <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> year 1978,<br />
<strong>the</strong> first Clubs 41 had already<br />
been chartered <strong>in</strong> Austria and<br />
it was about time to charter a<br />
national organisation. S<strong>in</strong>ce<br />
<strong>the</strong>n <strong>the</strong> Austrian Club 41 family<br />
has grown to 32 clubs with<br />
approximately 800 members.<br />
It can be noticed with pleasure<br />
that <strong>the</strong>re is an upwards trend<br />
and that <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> year of <strong>the</strong> 30 th<br />
anniversary ano<strong>the</strong>r two Clubs<br />
will be chartered, which will of<br />
course streng<strong>the</strong>n our national<br />
organisation fur<strong>the</strong>r .<br />
We are also very pleased to<br />
have a close relationship to<br />
Round Table Austria. This is<br />
demonstrated by <strong>the</strong> jo<strong>in</strong>t<br />
publication of a club magaz<strong>in</strong>e<br />
and by jo<strong>in</strong>t regular board and<br />
half-year meet<strong>in</strong>gs .<br />
For three times <strong>the</strong> president<br />
of 41 <strong>International</strong> has been an<br />
Austrian, this will be <strong>the</strong> case<br />
aga<strong>in</strong> <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> current club year<br />
with Dieter Straka .<br />
Follow<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> motto “Round<br />
Table is <strong>the</strong> past and <strong>the</strong> future<br />
of Club 41”, <strong>the</strong> Austrian<br />
members of Club 41 try to assist<br />
<strong>the</strong> members of Round<br />
Table to recruit new members<br />
and support <strong>the</strong>m to charter<br />
new clubs.<br />
The idea of an annual national<br />
service project of Club 41 Austria<br />
is also ga<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g ground.<br />

Isn’t this reason enough for all<br />
of us to be happy about <strong>the</strong><br />
achievements of <strong>the</strong> past 30<br />
years? We want to express our<br />
joy at <strong>the</strong> 30 th anniversary celebration<br />
at <strong>the</strong> AGM 2008<br />
from June 20th to 22nd. And<br />
we would be very happy to<br />
welcome many of our friends <strong>in</strong><br />
Club 41 from different nations<br />
here <strong>in</strong> Leoben.<br />
