The Eternit Integral Wall System 

is used world wide to 

construct light weight exterior 

walls. 

The system is easy to install 

because of its simplicity and 

the light weight of its components. 

Another advantag eof the 

light weight is that it saves on 

foundation costs.

Components, from interior to exterior: 

Interior finishing board Gypsumboard or MULTIBOARD 

Interior support : MULTIBOARD or ETERSPAN 

Vapour barrier and rockwool insulation and C-chanels Windscreen : MULTI- 

BOARD or ETERSPAN. 

Cladding subframe (vertically orientated to ensure ventilation in the cavity, see 

‘Rain Screen Cladding’) 

Exterior cladding panel : GLASAL or PELICOLOR or GRANITEX or NATURA or 

ETERFLEX or MULTIBOARD or CARAT or SIDINGS



installation sequence 

A substantial part of the job can be executed from the floor slabs. Often if 

the rest of the construction allows it, all materials can be brought up from 

the interior side. 

At first the metal channels are installed. Window openings are created with 

only the metal channels, fitting into eachother. 

Then follows the fixing of the windscreen protecting the building against 

weather influences already at an early stage. 

At the exterior side the cladding subframe then will be installed and the 

cladding panels and windows. 

At the interior side another team can fit in the insulation material and vapour 

barrier ( depending on the climate in some countries installed at the 

exterior side) 

After the electrical cables and possible other items are fit into the cavity 

between the Channels the wall is finished with the interior panel(s). 

Obviously the Integral Wall can be started at any level of the building. It is 

not necessary to start installation from down to the top.

examples. The example shown 

here has a curtain wall system 

instead of frames to fix the 

windows.

Notice the subframe for the cladding panel: 

It has a double layer of profiles: first zed profiles are installed horizontally 

and afterwards the final cladding subframe consisting of vertically installed 

zed and omega profiles is fixed onto the horizontal profiles. 

The reason of the extra horizontal zed profile is clear: 

The C-channels are installed at regular distances suitable for the standard 

dimensions of the windshield and interior panels. 

The exterior cladding panels have usually other dimensions and should be 

installed onto a subframe which does not depend on the location of the Cchannels.

Depending on the project location and dimensions it can occur that the sizes of

This detail to draw the attention on the shape of the omega profile of the cladding 

subframe : 

If the windshield panel is less then 10 mm, the screw to fix the 

windshield panel has no countersunk head but a round head. 

If as on this detail, the omega profile is fixed directly to the C-channel, then the 

base of the omega profile must be as narrow as possible to leave space for the 

head of the screws. 

When the windshield panels are minimum 10 mm or when the omega profiles are 

fixed onto a horizontal zed profile, then the omega can be used in its standard 

rectangular shape, because then it won’t interfere with the head of the screws.
