Prior <strong>to</strong> joining the Humane Society of<br />
Charlotte, she was the Chief Executive<br />
Officer of Asheville Humane Society<br />
in Asheville NC for 10 years. She has<br />
worked in all aspects of animal welfare<br />
and sheltering – Sixteen years as an<br />
Executive Direc<strong>to</strong>r / CEO of non-profit<br />
humane societies and five years of<br />
prior management experience in a<br />
large D.C. metropolitan animal shelter<br />
serving a community of approximately<br />
750,000 residents.<br />
Ms. Moore is a Maryland native and had<br />
the rare opportunity <strong>to</strong> return <strong>to</strong> her<br />
home<strong>to</strong>wn <strong>to</strong> serve as Executive Direc<strong>to</strong>r<br />
of the local humane society. She was<br />
involved in getting a new state of the art<br />
animal shelter built in that community.<br />
While in Asheville, she was instrumental<br />
in getting a monumental spay /<br />
neuter law passed in Buncombe County,<br />
North Carolina which contributed<br />
<strong>to</strong> reducing shelter intake from 10,000<br />
animals a year <strong>to</strong> 6,500. In 2009, under<br />
her leadership, Buncombe County was<br />
chosen as one of ten ASPCA partner<br />
communities in their effort <strong>to</strong> reduce<br />
euthanasia and increase the number of<br />
animals’ lives saved through targeted<br />
