20 Mupid TM - One Electrophoresis System functional design and easy handling The Mupid TM - One Submarine electrophoresis system for agarose gels is a further development of the well known Mupid TM - eXu unit, especially for the European market. What makes this system so popular? The Mupid TM - One gel trays are heat resistant: By using a novel polymeric material (PPHOX), gel solution up to 100°C can be poured into the tray without getting milky or brittle. The clean up of the used gel trays can be performed with boiling water. What makes this system so convenient? The Mupid TM - One ist „multi-sample“ suitable: The included combs are multi channel pipette compatible. Easy disposal of the running buffer: Buffer drains on two corners allow the easy removal of dangerous buffers solutions. All accessories are included - no extra costs Gel casting set ON-MS, included with the MUPID One What makes this system so safe? For prevention of an electric shock, the system is running only if both parts (chamber and power controller) are connected and if the lid is closed! With an open lid the main power can‘t be switched on. What makes this system so easy to use? The power controller can be disconnected easily. T<strong>here</strong>fore the chamber is safe and easy to clean up. The power controller is easy to use. Seven conventional voltages (18 V, 25 V, 35 V, 50 V, 70 V, 100 V and 135 V) are available. Peak voltage is constant (140 V) and output level changes through pulse control. A timer including an alarm function is available. All parameters of the last run are memorized and automatically saved. Gel casting set GM-HR, available as a separate item The Mupid TM - One comes with these accessories: Gel casting set (Cat.No. ON-MS) including 4 combs. The combs can be used from both sides (13 wells and 26 wells). Two gel trays small (S) for the preparation of mini gels with one comb (13 or 26 samples) One gel tray large (L) for the usage of up to 4 combs (up to 26 x 4 samples). The Mupid TM - One LED Illuminator DNA/RNA electrophoresis under „real time“ conditions Fig 1-3: The MUPID One LED Illuminator replaces the lid of the MUPID One electrophoresis chamber. Now you can follow the separation of your DNA fragments „live“ in agarose gel electrophoresis The MUPID One LED Illuminator was developed especially for the MUPID electrophoresis system and allows the detection of DNA fragments during the run. The electrophoresis can be continued because the LED illuminator, as shown above, can replace the lid of the MUPID chamber. The orange coloured filter protects you, so you can check the results without wearing goggles. The LED source inside the instrument produces light with a narrow emission peak at approximately 470 nm, effective for the excitation of nucleic acid stains such as Midori Green (see page 18) and SYBR dyes. The viewing area is coated in order to avoid the formation of moisture. The separated DNA is not damaged by the light emitted by LEDs, because it contains no short-wave UV light. Sensitivity is at 2 ng DNA. The MUPID One LED Illuminator is compatibe ONLY with the MUPID electrophoresis system.
