classes. If you don’t want to miss out on
the chance to meet and socialise with
students outside your course then there
are lots of activities you can get involved
in during Welcome Week, check out
pages 22-30. Taxis can be ordered easily
from outside the Union to across Greater
Manchester for after night events.

have children. We know that juggling family
life with other commitments such as work
and study can be tough at times so why not
take the opportunity to meet other parents
who are in the same boat. Share tips and
advice, and meet your Union reps.

At MMU around a third of our students are
over the age of 25, which means that you’re
coming into higher education after a period
away. Getting back into study mode can take
a bit of getting used to and if you find you’re
one of only a few mature students in your
class it’s good to have the chance to meet
other students in the same boat and share
the experience. If you consider yourself a
mature student and would like to drop into
our informal sessions to have a coffee and a
chat with other mature students and our reps
there’s one at each campus but feel free to
attend any session:

on throughout the week. There are a range of evening &
daytime activities - so something to suit everyone!

general knowledge! With a great cash prize
up for grabs, it’s not about who you know,
it’s what you know! The Met also has the
best drinks and food offers around - so pull
together a team, and beat the quiz master!
