In October 2008, the largest inner city shopping centre in Europe opened. At 148,644 sq m (1.6<br />
million sq ft), Westfield London is set to revolutionise shopping in the surrounding areas of West<br />
London. <strong>CBRE</strong> acted as joint leasing agent for the shopping centre which houses 265 retail units and<br />
targeted many new foreign retailers (including Alessi, Coccinelle, Desigual, Etincelle, Fornarina, Tabio,<br />
Vans, Versace) emphasising our international capability and strong cross-border retail contacts. An<br />
exclusive area known as The Village contains 40 shops dedicated to luxury fashion and jewellery. In<br />
spite of harsh economic conditions 99% of the scheme’s retail units were let on opening day and in<br />
the first eight days of trading the centre attracted one million shoppers. With over 80% of shoppers<br />
arriving by public transport, Westfield London has set a new model for shopping centres in the UK.
