royal honour for
henk groeneveld
Henk J. Groeneveld, CEO of the
Groeneveld Group in Gorinchem, has
been awarded the title of Knight of the
Order of Orange-Nassau by Her Majesty.
Chris Buijink, permanent secretary of the
Ministry of Economic Affairs, Agriculture
and Innovation, presented him with this
Royal honour during the celebration of
the 40th anniversary of the company.
Buijink referred to Henk Groeneveld
as being “an innovative entrepreneur
with a clear vision, the driving spirit of
the world-wide growth of his company
and the initiator of product and other
innovations.”
Henk joined the company, established
by his oldest brother two years earlier,
in 1973, and under his passionate
management, the Groeneveld Group
has developed itself from a local Dutch
company into a globally operating
company with over 30 affiliates in more
than twenty countries, stretching from
Europe to Australia and New-Zealand
and from Russia and China to North-
and South-America.
With over 500 employees throughout the
world, the Groeneveld Group is active
in the development, production and
marketing & sales of advanced products
and systems for automatic maintenance
of road transport equipment, buses,
earth moving and construction
machines, trains, agricultural and
industrial machines, as well as advanced
IT solutions for the logistics sector.

cBe honour for JcB Deputy
chairman John Patterson
JCB Deputy Chairman John
Patterson has been made a
Commander of the Most Excellent
Order of the British Empire (CBE) in
the Queen’s Birthday Honours.
The honour has been awarded
to Mr Patterson in recognition of
his services to British business
development worldwide.
JCB Chairman Sir Anthony Bamford
said: “John’s contribution to both JCB
and British business over the past 40
years has been immense and I am
delighted that he has received this
well-deserved recognition.”
John Patterson joined JCB as a Field
Service Engineer in 1971 and rose
to Worldwide CEO overseeing the
company’s global operations. Now
based at JCB’s North American HQ
in Savannah, Georgia where he is
Chairman and CEO, John Patterson also
became Deputy Chairman of the JCB
Group in 2009.
John Patterson said: “I am very proud
to receive the honour and all that it
represents. This is a tribute to the many
people within the JCB organisation who I
have worked with over the last 40 years.”

Breedon aggregates
Breedon Aggregates, the UK’s
largest independent aggregates
company, has appointed Neil
Donegan as senior health, safety
and environmental manager. Neil
will be based at the company’s
head office at Breedon-on-the-Hill
and will report to Tim Hall,
chief executive of Breedon
Aggregates England.
A chartered health and
safety practitioner, Neil
was previously senior
health and safety
auditor at Sita UK, one
of the country’s largest
waste management
companies. Prior to this
he spent many years in
senior health and safety
roles in a variety of
industries, including coal,
construction and building
materials.
Commenting on Neil’s appointment, Tim
Hall said: “We’re fortunate to have found
such an experienced professional to fill
this key role in our senior team. Health
and safety is at the very top of our board
agenda and Neil will help us ensure that
Breedon Aggregates remains a safe,
secure place to work for all our employees.”
