Even the most perfect ski boot is not entirely proof against warping. Snow, ice and tiny stones adhering to the soles can make a great difference to the function of a safety binding. That is why the GERTSCH System uses a release plate. This light-alloy plate acts as a second, absolutely unwarping boot sole. It never wears out and never "curls" The safety mechanism is not connected to the boot but to the stable release plate.
