grades, with 98% of students
gaining 5 or more
A*- G grades (59% of all
students gained 5 or more
A*-C including English and
Maths)
Two points were especially
pleasing: the continued
improvement in the results
in the core subjects and
the increase in the number
of students who achieved a
clean sweep of 8 or more
A/A* grades, these being:
Rowenna Silverwood
Danielle Trudgeon
Jamie Pitcher
Sebastian Bush-
Hipwood
Alexia Louveiris
David Satherley
Natalie Shilton
Graeme Morgan
Victoria Harris
Felicity Andruszko
In addition to this, we
were delighted to learn
that Sebastian Bush-
Hipwood scored one of the
top 5 marks in Mathematics
nationally. This is a remarkable
achievement
considering that there
were 116497 entries for
the examination with the
AQA Examination Board
Headteacher, Judith Potts
says, ’GCSE results continue
to be consistently very good
at Highcliffe. We have
achieved very high standards
in the core subjects of
English, Mathematics and
Science. The Science and
Modern Languages results
are a particular cause for
celebration with our specialist
status in these subject
areas. We continue to
be one of only a handful of
schools nationally and the
only local school, with specialist
status in more than
one subject. These academic
achievements form
a part of a much broader
portfolio of achievement
for our students here at
highcliffe. We applaud all
these achievements today.
The DfES have already recognized
the great strides
forwards that the school is
making. This is particularly
pleasing as we are at the
forefront of their thinking.
It is good to see that the
sheer hard work of students,
parents and staff
are being recognized both
locally and nationally’.
