In its “Test Systems” division, KRATZER AUTOMATION plans
and implements test benches for the automotive industry,
primarily for turbochargers, engines, gear chains and
other drive train components. In particular, the company
focuses on developing test systems for energy-saving and
environmentally-friendly drive concepts such as hybrid or
electric drives and fuel cell technology. The various types
of test bench are controlled by the PAtools software. User
interface and test procedures can be flexibly adapted as
needed and users benefit from uniform system technology.
The testXplorer software administers test data in the testing
environment and so ensures greater transparency and
efficient use of resources.
The scalable, modular manufacturing execution system intra-
FACTORY® offers greater transparency and more efficient
processes in electronics and equipment manufacturing, in
particular as regards product and process traceability, material
and setup management as well as the integration of
repair stations. intraFACTORY® covers all process steps from
incoming goods to finished products. To further enhance efficiency
in order processing and capacity utilization, KRATZER
AUTOMATION offers solutions for granular production planning
based on its advanced planning and scheduling tool
intraFACTORY® Scheduler. The portfolio of the Integrated
Manufacturing division is rounded off by software for the
control of complex automated devices and the integration of
machines in customer-specific software systems.
The Logistics Automation division at KRATZER AUTOMATION
delivers cadisTRANSPORT TMS, a transport management
system for optimizing the planning, execution and analysis
of all operative work processes for freight transport.

PAtools is the new tool for the automation of all types
of test systems. The multiplicity of our deployed systems
ranges from test benches for single components up to
complete test centers. “Software for Efficient Processes”
is our theme for open, flexible and user friendly test systems.
Standard Systems with High Flexiblity
PAtools relies on proven, off-the-shelf industry hardware of leading
suppliers. As an independent solution provider we choose
the configuration which best fits your specific needs. Thus we
can accommodate the partly contradictory requirement of highest
performance at low cost in an optimal fashion.
Complex test benches combine the functions of most different
subsystems like dynamic drives, measurement devices and
control elements. With a permanently growing library of over 50
device drivers PAtools can integrate a broad range from subsystems
of various manufacturers via open interfaces.
With PAtools you are not limited to the solution specified when
your system was installed. Beside changes of parameters and
sequences you can also modify and completely redefine your
testing application with the help of the deployed standard development
tools. If you want to go further, you can link your own
program code by means of our interface to MATLAB/ SIMULINK ®
and various programming languages.

The testing program will be processed on its own real-time computer,
whereas the user interface and the visualization run on a
standard Windows PC.

control and simulation.

Dynamic Re-loading during Runtime
Especially during design and debugging of a test you frequently
need to adopt operating points, nominal values and limits. Until
now you lost valuable time in stopping the test, re-translating
the program and starting anew. Now with PAtools things work
out much faster and easier! Without stopping your test bench,
you cannot only vary parameters, but also exchange complex
objects like sequences at runtime “online” in the PAtools realtime
system. Also during this dynamic re-loading you utilize the
comfort of your common tool chain without any restraint and
interruption: All pre-defined safety criteria will further be adhered
to, uninterrupted traceability of your testing sequence
is guaranteed and all your run-time changes are automatically
documented.
Integrated Test Data Management
PAtools incorporates an integrated test data management including
a web interface for corporate-wide data access to testing
results. Now the testing engineer is not any longer forced
to meticulously file his data in error-prone and time consuming
manual proceedings.
PAtools automatically indexes all test results and files this information
as “meta data” in the integrated test data management
system. By means of structured and common search criteria,
the test results can be retrieved, manipulated and forwarded for
further processing to other departments and systems through
a corporate-wide, web-based portal. For long-term storage,
PAtools can be interconnected to archiving sys tems of leading
suppliers via certified interfaces.
