COLABORACIÓN ENTRE OS ESTUDOS SUPERIORES<br />

EN DESEÑO TÊXTIL E MODA DE GALICIA, E A CENTRAL<br />

SAINT MARTINS COLLEGE OF ART AND DESIGN (LONDON),<br />

2009-2010<br />

Froito da fluída e fructífera relación <strong>de</strong> ESDEMGA coa Central<br />

Saint Martins College of Art and Design <strong>de</strong> Londres, nace no<br />

curso 2009-10 un proxecto coordinado entre ambas institucións.<br />

A aposta pola colaboración coas mellores institucións <strong>de</strong> <strong>de</strong>seño<br />

europeas, neste caso no marco <strong>de</strong> <strong>de</strong>seño gráfico e <strong>de</strong> moda, é unha<br />

das priorida<strong>de</strong>s <strong>de</strong> ESDEMGA que se materializa neste curso con<br />

un proxecto conxunto que codirixen Cristina Varela, Rocio Gómez<br />

e Ana Seoane <strong>de</strong>s<strong>de</strong> ESDEMGA, e Marcos Villalba e Rachel Cattle<br />

<strong>de</strong>s<strong>de</strong> CENTRAL SAINT MARTINS COLLEGE OF ART AND<br />

DESIGN.<br />

Dado o interés que sen dúbida ten para a <strong>Universida<strong>de</strong></strong> <strong>de</strong> <strong>Vigo</strong><br />

manter contactos internacionais <strong>de</strong> este nível, potenciamos o<br />

intercambio e o <strong>de</strong>senvolvemento <strong>de</strong> actuacións conxuntas que,<br />

neste caso se traducen nunha colaboración entre estas dúas<br />

titulacións <strong>de</strong> <strong>de</strong>seño; <strong>de</strong>seño têxtil no caso <strong>de</strong> es<strong>de</strong>mga e <strong>de</strong>seño<br />

gráfico no caso da CSM.<br />

Os alumnos <strong>de</strong> ESDEMGA <strong>de</strong>senvolveron unhas 60 propostas<br />

<strong>de</strong> posibles prendas plantexadas mediante procesos <strong>de</strong> <strong>de</strong>buxo<br />

e ilustración, nas que o compoñente gráfico tivese un forte peso<br />

específico, nun plantexamento <strong>de</strong> “prenda gráfica” que cada vez é<br />

mais <strong>de</strong>mandado no mercado da moda e o “fashionismo”. Despois<br />

dun proceso <strong>de</strong> selección e readaptación <strong>de</strong> patrons e insercións<br />

gráficas o resultado son os nove estilismos que presentamos.<br />

A colaboración entre <strong>Es<strong>de</strong>mga</strong> e Saint Martins, que se<br />

institucionaliza con este convenio, ven sendo habitual <strong>de</strong>n<strong>de</strong> hai xa<br />

algún tempo e se materializa na colaboración mutua en algúns dos<br />

eventos institucionais <strong>de</strong> ambos centros.<br />

COLLABORATION BETWEEN HIGHER EDUCATION IN TEXTILE<br />

AND FASHION DESIGN<br />

OF GALICIA, AND CENTRAL SAINT MARTINS COLLEGE OF ART<br />

AND DESIGN (LONDON), 2009-2010<br />

ESDEMGA and Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in<br />

London,<br />

put up in 2009-10 a project of collaboration co-directed by Cristina<br />

Varela, Rocio Gomez and Ana Seoane from ESDEMGA, and Marcos<br />

Villalba<br />

and Rachel Cattle from CENTRAL SAINT MARTINS COLLEGE OF<br />

ART AND DESIGN.<br />

Due to the undoubtful interest that the University of <strong>Vigo</strong> has in<br />

maintaining contacts at this level, we promote the exchange and<br />

collaboration of joint actions, which in this case results in the<br />

collaboration between these two <strong>de</strong>grees of Design in Fashion (in the<br />

case of ESDEMGA) and Graphic Design (in the case of CSM).<br />

The participating stu<strong>de</strong>nts <strong>de</strong>veloped around 60 proposals for<br />

possible pieces raised through processes of drawing and illustration,<br />

in which the graphic component would have strong specific<br />

importance in a “graphic piece” approach. After a process of<br />

selection and readaptation of graphic patterns and inserts, this has<br />

resulted in nine styles that are now presented on the catwalk.<br />

The collaboration between ESDENGA and Saint Martins, which is<br />

present in this agreement, has been taking place for some time now<br />

and is being fulfilled by collaborating in some of the institutional<br />

events in both centers.
