5.3 Infección <strong>de</strong>l Espacio Discal (DISC)<br />
Presencia <strong>de</strong> al menos 1 <strong>de</strong> los siguientes criterios en un<br />
paciente con sospecha <strong>de</strong> infección <strong>de</strong>l espacio discal:<br />
• Criterio 1. Aislamiento <strong>de</strong> microorganismos <strong>de</strong>l tejido<br />
<strong>de</strong>l espacio discal vertebral obtenidos durante un<br />
procedimiento quirúrgico o con aspiración por aguja.<br />
• Criterio 2. Evi<strong>de</strong>ncia <strong>de</strong> infección <strong>de</strong>l espacio discal<br />
vertebral durante un procedimiento quirúrgico o<br />
examen histopatológico.<br />
• Criterio 3. Que el paciente tenga fiebre (>38°C) sin<br />
otra causa reconocida<br />
O<br />
Dolor en el espacio discal vertebral comprometido<br />
Y<br />
Evi<strong>de</strong>ncia radiológica <strong>de</strong> infección (hallazgos anormales<br />
en radiografía, TAC, RMN gammagrafía ósea).<br />
• Criterio 4. Que el paciente tenga fiebre (>38°C)<br />
sin otra causa reconocida.<br />
Y<br />
Dolor en el espacio discal vertebral comprometido<br />
Y<br />
Detección <strong>de</strong>l antígeno positivo en sangre u orina<br />
(Ejemplo: H. influenzae, S. pneumoniae, N.<br />
meningitidis o estreptococo <strong>de</strong>l grupo B).<br />
