DRAUGHT BEER TROUBLE GUIDECLOUDY BEERWhen beer in glass appears hazy, and not clear.Causes1)• Over chilling beverage cooler and/orbeverage lines.2)• Contaminated air source. Make certain that lines arethoroughly cleaned, and then raise temperatureslightly.2)• See flat beer, correction #7• Always draw fresh air from an outside source tocompressor. Lipstick is a fatty substance.. Makesure it is removed from glass.• Excess amount of germicides build up and leavea fatty film on glass, which may cause flat beer.• It is preferable to steam and sterilize glasseswhere health laws permit.• Wash glasses thoroughly with a good detergent.• Do not use soap.• Do not dry-wipe glasses. Permit glasses to airdryby placing them on wire or corrugated metal.• Rinse in fresh cold water just before serving2)• Improper drawing of beer into glass.beer. It is best to serve beer in a wet glass.2)• Open faucet quickly and completely.• Check and find the correct distance to holdglass from faucet when drawing. Proper foamshould be a tight creamy head, and the collar onthe average glass should be ¾” to 1” high.• Beer drawn without head has appearance ofbeing flat.16
