3 OperationGB3.1Insert/replacebatteriesOne button cell batterie (type CR2032) is already inserted in your new scale.The insulating strip must be pulled out of the battery compartment onthe underside of the unit before the scale can be operated. Replace thebatterie if the battery change symbol "LO" appears in the display or ifnothing appears in the display when the device is switched on. To do this,open the battery compartment beneath the device and insert one cellbatterie (type CR2032). Please note polarity (positive pole upwards; facingtowards the lid). Close the battery compartment again.WARNINGBATTERY SAFETY INFORMATION• Do not disassemble batteries!• Clean the battery and device contacts if necessary beforeputting in the batteries!• Remove discharged batteries from the device immediately!• Increased risk of leakage, avoid contact with skin, eyes andmucous membranes! If battery acid comes in contact withany of this parts, rinse the affected area with copiousamounts of fresh water and seek medical attentionimmediately!• If a battery has been swallowed seek medical attentionimmediately!• Replace all of the batteries simultaneously!• Only replace with batteries of the same type, never usedifferent types of batteries together or used batteries withnew ones!• Insert the batteries correctly, observing the polarity!• Keep the battery compartment well sealed!• Remove the batteries from the device if it is not going tobe used for an extended period!• Keep batteries out of children's reach!• Do not attempt to recharge these batteries! There is adanger of explosion!• Do not short circuit! There is a danger of explosion!• Do not throw into a fire! There is a danger of explosion!• Keep unused batteries in their packaging away from metalobjects in order to prevent short circuiting!• Do not throw used batteries into the household refuse;put them in a hazardous waste container or take them toa battery collection point, at the shop where they werepurchased!3.2Change theUnit of WeightYou may have your weight displayed in kilograms (kg), stones (st) or pounds(lb). Open the battery compartment on the underside of the unit and setthe weight unit you desire using the small switch. Close the batterycompartment up again.11
