GB3 Operation3.3Weighing1. Place the scale on a stable, firm surface. All four feet must be touchingthe floor. Uneven and soft flooring affects measuring accuracy.2. Always weigh yourself on the same scale, at the same place and at thesame time. Weigh yourself without clothing, before meals, preferably inthe morning before breakfast.3. Switch on the scale with your foot by tapping it lightly close to thedisplay . Wait a few seconds. The display will briefly show a row of 4figure “ 8 ” and then “ 0.0 kg ”.NOTEDo not step onto the scale until the display shows “ 0.0 kg ”Wrong or no weight data will be indicated if the scale is usedincorrectly.4. Step carefully onto the scale. Place your feet flat and evenly on the scale’sstanding area . Do not move. Your weight is measured and displayed.5. The scale switches off as soon as you step down from it.NOTEThe scale will switch off automatically after approx. 6 secondsif you have switched on the scale by tapping it with your footbut do not perform a weight measurement whilst “ 0.0 kg ”is displayed.3.4Error messagesThe following error messages may appear in the display:The scale is overloaded.The battery is low and must be replaced.If your personal scales do not function to your satisfaction, check thefollowing before contacting a service centre.• Check whether the batteries have been inserted correctly.• Check whether the correct unit of weight has been selected.• Check whether the scales are freestanding on a solid and even surface.They must not be touching a wall or any other object.• Weigh yourself again and make sure that you only step on the scaleswhen “ 0.0 kg ” has appeared in the display.12
