Greetings
As the main of the Regional Department for Rural Affairs, I can
assure, that the commitment of the Regional Government is
becoming more and more firm and resolute when it comes to
promoting efficient formulas that will allow the Galician farmer
to achieve better competition levels, which at the end, will
allow those who are agriculture dependent to benefit from a
better way of life and satisfying working conditions.
All initiatives that contribute to the dynamisation and
modernisation of the working conditions in dairies, food
industry and the galician forestry sector are being welcomed
by the Departement for Rural Affairs, the same way as it is this
5th edition of the International Agricultural Machinery Show
(Cimag, 2011). In this sense, I will like to make emphasis on the
date that it is to be held, which coincides with the economic
helplines that are going to be opened by the Department.
These economic helplines are addressed to the renewal of all
of the Galician Regional Community agricultural fleet.
The helplines go way beyond the procedure of dismantling
old machinery or the substitution of old ones for new ones or
more modern ones. But try to ensure the need to comply with
improved energy efficiency methods, achieving fuel saving
levels, while lowering the accident rate in agriculture and
forestry. The added value which is, once again, ensuring
the coexistence between agriculture and conservation on
their very nature, by actually reaching a lower environmental
impact by reducing pollutant emissions to the atmosphere.
So let me take this opportunity to congratulate and welcome
sponsors, exhibitors and visitors to this fifth edition of
the International Agricultural Machinery Show. I feel it is
necessary, at this moment, to make a special mention to
the work done by the Fundación Semana Verde de Galicia,
for being able to perceive the needs that demanded this
economic sector.
Feeling confident that Cimag 2011will meet all parties’
expectations, I wish all of you a very fruitful and successful
event.
