PRESIDENT Of SEmANA vERDE DE GALICIA fOUNDATION
As president of the Semana Verde of Galicia Foundation, I
am pleased to welcome you to the International Agricultural
Machinery Show, which arrives in its fifth edition already
consolidated as the best showcase for the agricultural
industry of forage throughout the whole peninsula and as
one of the most important professional events held at Silleda
exhibition center.
From the Regional Government, we have prompted an
essential redefinition of the activities of the Semana Verde
of Galicia Foundation, so that without losing sight of its
foundational purposes and its origins, was able to modernise
and open itself to all kind of visitors. In this new framework,
Cimag fits perfectly and offers business, innovation and
knowledge in an area so historically linked to the Green Week
as to farming machinery and feeding industry.
In times of economic difficulties, the Green Week has
managed to reinvent itself and demonstrate that it can be
sustainable by betting on the organisation of multisectoral
events open to the general public and also on holding
professional meetings for specific economic sectors. The aim
of the Regional Government is that the Galician agricultural
sector will emerge reinforced from the economic crisis
and thus is crucial for it to pledge on with technological
progress, innovation and development, issues which are well
represented in Cimag.
The Galician Government is committed to obtain territorial
equilibrium and a Galicia that will offers equal opportunity to
its citizens regardless of where they are living. The primary
sector has marked the history of Galicia and we are convinced
that it has a future as well. Cimag is a living example, that
innovation blends with the maintenance of traditional sectors,
and further, it is a boost towards their development. I only
wish the greatest success to the fair since it will turn into a
guarantee for the Galician agricultural sector.
