del Bienestar fue ‘la medicina energética se pone
seria’, que explora una nueva fuerza en salud y
curación. Tanto médicos como profesionales del

sonoras, y su capacidad para curar.

Pero, ¿qué es exactamente la medicina energética

In 2020 one of the trends of the Global Wellness Institute was
‘energy medicine gets serious’ exploring a new force in health and
healing, both doctors and wellness practitioners are uncovering
the potential of electromagnetic, light and sound interventions, and
their ability to heal.
We’ve seen a surge in interest in holistic spa services such as reiki,
acupressure, sound therapy, light therapy and chakra balancing.
But what exactly is energy medicine and how do we expand our spa
menus to include some of these requested rituals?
Energy medicine recognizes the life force of all living things and
aims to support the flow of energy (often called Qi, Chi or Prana)
to enhance our overall sense of wellbeing. Energy therapies are
considered non-invasive healing techniques that treat the mind,
body and spirit. Energy needs to flow and move freely in and around
our bodies, however, energy can become stagnant and cause
discomfort and dysfunction.
Ancient practices of balancing energies have been shown to
positively impact mood; from depression and anxiety to improved
sleep and digestion. Thanks to modern technology, we can now
measure this previously unseen energy and direct it to enhance
our sense of self, tap into our innate ability to heal ourselves,
balance our meridians, our chakras and feel connected to universal
energy. These practices may utilize acoustic therapies, crystals
and intentional touch, to increase vibrational frequencies, and help
guests tune in to their own energy.

Como CEO de All4Spas, creadora de la línea de productos Agave
Spa, experta de bienestar y has sido reconocida como Líder
Latinoamericana de Bienestar, ¿qué más nos puedes decir sobre
tu trayectoria profesional que pocas personas conocen?
Antes de ser empresaria fui maestra de preescolar, cuentacuentos y
monté una biblioteca. Además, co-cree un programa de lectura con
abuelitos para la escuela que laboraba, y con el Fondo de Cultura
Económica lo expandimos a otras partes de México. También escribí
cuentos de niños.
Apoyas diversas causas y organizaciones, ¿cuáles son las que
más te apasionan y por qué?
Apoyo a la iniciativa de Wellness for Cancer que me ha ayudado a
sensibilizar y participar en asociaciones tan importantes como FUCAM
y Jóvenes con Cáncer. Siempre me han importado los animales, así
que también apoyamos al campamento tortuguero de Chacahua y a
diversos refugios para perros.
Recientemente, fuiste honrada con una muñeca Barbie hecha a tu
semejanza, ¿ha repercutido esto en tu vida profesional y personal,
y qué puedes decirnos sobre el proceso y su importancia?
Creo que este honor me ayudó a entender la importancia de seguir mis
sueños. Me sentía desesperanzada, acababa de perder a dos personas
sumamente importantes, esto me hizo tocar tierra y me ayudó a saber
que rendirme no era opción. Si una persona tan normal como yo, sin el
perfil de una muñeca Barbie, podía ser reconocida por lo que he logrado
y superado, entonces necesito estar consciente del valor de lo que he
construido. Tener una Barbie junto con personas tan prestigiosas como
Shonda Rhymes me empoderó, y me ayudó a entender que parte de mi
legado es inspirar y compartir el mensaje de que tú puedes ser lo que
quieras ser, con posibilidades infinitas.
¿Qué consejo le darías a quién este buscando iniciar un negocio
en esta industria?
Tener paciencia, tolerancia y apertura. Enfocarte en lo que tú puedes
ofrecer, enfatizando tus destrezas sin desmeritar a la competencia. Si
entendiéramos esto como industria en Latinoamérica, seríamos más
fuertes y mejor posicionados en el mercado, estableciendo un ejemplo
positivo. Al final somos embajadores del bienestar.
¿Qué otros logros esperas conseguir en el futuro?
Hay cosas muy importantes en el horizonte. Estoy a punto de celebrar
mis 50 años, con casi 20 años dedicada al mundo del bienestar, y
estoy dirigiendo un proyecto que es el sueño de mi vida. Continuaré
yendo hacia adelante, manteniéndome positiva y compartiendo mis
experiencias, buenas y malas, y las alegrías del bienestar, ayudando a
que nuestra industria siga creciendo.

Interview with Adriana Azuara
CEO, All4Spas and Agave Spa
As CEO of All4Spas, creator of Agave Spa product line, wellness
expert and a recognized Latin American Wellness Leader, what
can you tell us about your career journey that few people know?
Before becoming an entrepreneur, I was a preschool teacher, a
storyteller, and I set up a library. In addition, I co-created a reading
program with grandparents for the school where I worked, and
alongside the Fondo de Cultura Económica, we expanded it to
other parts of Mexico. I also wrote children's stories.
You support various causes and organizations, which ones are
you most passionate about and why?
I support the Wellness for Cancer initiative, which has helped me
gain awareness and participate in important associations such as
FUCAM and Jóvenes con Cáncer. I have always cared a lot about
animals, so we also support the Chacahua turtle camp and various
dog shelters.
Recently, you were honored with a Barbie doll created in your
likeness. Has this impacted your professional and personal
life and what can you share with us about the process and the
importance of this?
I think this honor helped me understand the importance of following
my dreams. I was feeling hopeless, having just lost two important
people, this grounded me and I realized giving up was not an option.
If someone like me, without the profile of a Barbie doll, could be
recognized for what I have achieved and overcome, then I must
be aware of the value of what I created. Having a Barbie alongside
people as prestigious as Shonda Rhymes empowered me and
helped me understand that part of my legacy is to inspire and share
the message that you can be anything you want to be, with endless
possibilities.
What advice would you give to someone looking to start a
business in this industry?
To have patience, tolerance, and openness. Focus on what you
can offer, emphasizing your strengths without downplaying the
competition. If we understood this as an industry in Latin America,
we would be stronger and better positioned in the market, setting a
good example. In the end, we are all wellness ambassadors.
What other achievements do you hope to accomplish in the
future?
Very important things are on the horizon. I am about to celebrate
my 50th birthday with almost 20 years dedicated to the world
of wellness and I am leading a project that is my life's dream. I
will continue moving forward, staying positive, and sharing my
experiences, both good and bad, and the joys of wellness, helping
our industry to grow.

Una consulta inicial incluye elegir la intensidad del masaje y seleccionar
el aceite esencial que resulta más atractivo, señal del estado de ánimo
actual del huésped. Al entrar al spa, los huéspedes son recibidos por una
construcción de madera natural y piedra combinada con una iluminación
cálida y suave que crea la atmosfera. El tratamiento ‘Ando por las Nubes’

An initial consultation includes choosing the intensity of the
massage and selecting the essential oil that appeals most, a sign
of the guest’s current state of mind. As guests enter the spa, they
are welcomed by natural wood and stone construction combined
with warm, soft lighting to set the atmosphere. The treatment ‘Ando
por las Nubes’ (A Walk in the Clouds) starts with a welcome ritual
that includes a short meditation while the eyes are covered with a
sleep mask, at the same time a foot massage induces a state of
relaxation. The selected essential oil permeates the enclosed space
and is used throughout the 60-minute full body massage.
The hydrotherapy area at Amor en Silencio consists of a sauna,
followed by a steam room with a refreshing cool water shower just
a chain pull away, and a jacuzzi, where guests can enjoy a herbal
tea. During the spa experience, the staff is careful to prevent guests
from seeing each other, providing a sense of privacy, so each guest
feels like they have the entire spa to themselves.

del país.” La mayor concentración de spas de México está ubicado
en la Riviera Maya, convirtiéndola en un motivo para que los viajeros
visiten la zona. “Existe un nuevo modelo de oferta turística, el turismo
de bienestar, que incluye los ámbitos de salud, fitness, y gastronómico”
expresó De la Rosa.
Durante el evento, oficialmente inaugurado por el Secretario de Turismo
de Quintana Roo, Bernardo Cueto Riestra, Agueda Academia de Spa
recibió el premio a la Mejor Academia de Terapeutas 2023 Wellness
& Spa, otorgado por la Asociación Latinoamericana de Spa y la
Asociación Mundial de Turismo de Bienestar y Médico. También se
presentó el nuevo libro, Spa & Turismo Wellness: Especial México y
